Welcome Back!
Dear Caddie Woodlawn Elementary School Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! We are eagerly preparing for the return of students and another year of learning, growth, connection, and fun. While many beautiful summer days remain, I am filled with anticipation and excitement for the new school year and the positive energy that students bring into the building. We cannot wait to welcome them back and make this school year their best yet. I hope you all have had a wonderful summer and found time to relax, enjoy some favorite activities, and spend time with those important to you.
This year we will continue to use Skyward for our “Family Access”. This is a tool that allows parents to examine up-to-date information on their child’s grades, homework assignments, attendance, lunch account balances and activity, and much more – all through a secure, easy-to-use online link to school records. We will also continue to use ParentSquare this year. This program allows us to message families via text and email using the information you have already provided to us. There is nothing further you need to do to sign up for ParentSquare, just know that communication from Caddie may come through this platform.
Here are a couple of important dates to mark on your calendar as well as some staff updates:
Back to School Open House: Monday, August 24th from 12p.m. – 6p.m. Stop in anytime during the open house to meet your child’s teacher, see the classroom, pick up needed forms, tour the school, and have school pictures taken.
First Day of School: Wednesday, August 26th. This will be a full day of school with regular bussing.
New staff members to welcome: Stacie Brenner, 5th grade teacher, Trinity Barry, special education teacher, Ashley Gunderson, student success coach.
As we prepare for the new school year and to live our mission of empowering all to learn, grow, and succeed, your continued support and dedication to the students and staff of Caddie Woodlawn is invaluable. Thank you for all you do for our school community and your continued partnership in educating all students. I look forward to that partnership and encourage you to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns.
Sincerely,
Taylor Semingson

Caddie Woodlawn Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
School safety continues to be a top priority for our district. Orderly drop-off and pick-up procedures are essential to ensuring student, staff, and visitor safety, so please adhere to the following expectations and share them with others who may be picking up or dropping off your child(ren).
Morning Drop-Off: The school doors open at 7:45, please do not drop off before this time. You may park in the main parking lot and walk your child to the front door. It is best if you drop your child off in the loop, exiting on the passenger side only, and let them walk inside on their own. We will have a staff member at Door 1 to welcome and help students. Families may come into the vestibule to say goodbye or may come into the office but will not be permitted beyond this point. Breakfast begins at 7:45 and the school starts at 8:10.
Afternoon Pickup: The end of the day pick-up is incredibly busy and requires patience. When this procedure is followed, it is a smooth process that takes no longer than 10 minutes for all students to be picked up. If you are changing pickup plans for your child, please call the front office by 2:30pm so that we can inform their classroom teacher and get them to the right spot.
● No parking in the pickup line before 3:00pm. Parents who need to pick up their child(ren) early for appointments, delivery drivers, and mentors have difficulty entering and exiting the parking lot when the line begins earlier.
● Stay alert in the car pickup line and pull forward when there is space in front of you.
● Parent pickup students will be escorted to Door 1 at 3:15. Students will line up behind cones and will be dismissed by school staff to their adult. We will allow students to go to their car when you have pulled forward and come to a complete stop in the pickup zone.
● Students should enter the car from the passenger side of the vehicle. Drivers should stay in the vehicle if possible, when in the pickup line. Do not park in the pickup line.
● If you decide to park in a parking spot, please walk to the building to meet your child and escort them back to your car. Please cross the parking lot near the front of the pickup zone. We do not dismiss students by themselves into the parking lot.
● Drivers watch carefully and yield to families who are crossing the parking lot.
● Do not double park in the loop, we need to keep the line moving
● Please do not park in the street, the buses need to get through
● Reminder we are a tobacco free zone, this includes the parking lot
● Have your child ride the bus home if/when possible
● Walkers will be dismissed after the buses have departed
