• The art of writing, particularly fantasy, requires a deep dive into research and world-building. Today I'll offer a glimpse of my imaginary world: The Republic of Caldera (Ask me what it was originally called 😉.)

• This world consists of eight distinct settlements (and a few scattered islands). Readers of "The Lies Told in the Dark" will recognize Caldera, the Republic's vibrant capital, a sprawling metropolis that is located at the republic's heart. A five-day journey from Caldera lies Shangridia- the shrouded town where Bernadette and Calvin begin their search for Charolette- a hidden gem nestled in the mountains.
