Everitt Middle School News
May 28th, 2026
From Principal Alex
Hi Everitt families,
"I present to you one more time, the Class of 2030!" With those final words, our 8th-grade continuation ceremony came to a close, marking the end of middle school for our departing students. The event was a celebration of growth, featuring student reflections, awards and the symbolic journey through the balloon "Arch of Knowledge." We were honored to welcome Wheat Ridge Mayor Korey Stites, who joined school dignitaries in a receiving line to personally congratulate each graduate as they stepped into their next chapter. With the hillside filled with families and our entire staff there to witness the proceedings, it was a powerful reminder of our vibrant WR community that supports these young people.
Success like this is always a collaborative effort and this ceremony was no exception. A huge thank you goes out to our 8th grade and GT teams for their preparation, as well as the many staff members who pitched in to set up rows of chairs under the sun. Our PTA provided wonderful refreshments for the families and Ms. Ronnie’s decorations added a festive finish to the atmosphere.
This very short final week involved much activity across all grade levels, including award ceremonies for our 6th and 7th graders and a thrilling 8th-grade trip to Elitches. Between our school-wide picnic on Tuesday and a focused opportunity for students to raise their grades on Wednesday, the week offered a perfect balance of celebration and academic responsibility. As the final buzzer sounded, we sent our LABS home with "Who Let the Dogs Out?" and "School’s Out for Summer" echoing over the intercom.
Today and tomorrow, teachers will do some final grade calculations and post them into Infinite campus before they leave for summer break. As it is custom in Jeffco MSs and HSs, no physical report cards will be sent home but will be available through Parent portal.
As far as the preliminary academic results for Semester 2 are concerned, it appears to be another season of winning across all grade levels. Our students have again stepped up, and I'll let the numbers speak for themselves. We were thrilled to see that nearly 14% of our students achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA and 52% would qualify for honor roll with 3.0 or higher. Beyond these high marks, we also want to recognize another 20.5% of our students with GPAs between 2.0 and 2.99.
Once our teachers head off for their well-deserved summer break, the front office will remain open to assist you until approximately June 10th. Our administrative team will return in mid-July, and we will share more detailed information regarding our fall kickoff events shortly after. In the meantime, please go ahead and save these important dates on your family calendar:
August 5–6: Jeffco Action Center School Supply Distribution (Gym)
August 5: Jeffco School Registration Event (Cafeteria)
August 18: Back to School Night
August 19–20: Camp Everitt (6th Grade only)
August 21: First Day of School (All grades return)
Signing off,
~Principal Alex
8th Grade Continuation
Tips for Your Freshman Year
On a personal note, I want to extend my sincerest congratulations to the class of 2030 (wow). The next four years will go by so fast. Don't give your adults too hard of a time, most of them are just trying to help. For them, high school will be like...a sneeze... and suddenly it's over. I'm speaking from experience.
8th graders are always my go-to when looking for leaders. This class in particular were with me when I started this journey at Everitt. I have very fond memories and I have the biggest hopes for your futures. Be kind, be safe and be you.
You are amazing- Miss Rose
