✨ from Mrs. Lake
Welcome Back!! We are off to a great start with the new school year. All of the students seem to be settled in with their new teachers and classroom routines. I'm especially proud of our kindergarteners and how well they have adjusted to being in school all day. A special thank you to Mrs. Weaver for stepping in while Mrs. Reed is recovering. She is doing an amazing job with the students!
We are very fortunate to again offer free breakfast and lunch for all of our students this year. This special service has been offered to us through a grant. Our cafeteria staff is working very hard to provide hot, nutritious meals for our students, and I'm so happy to see that most of our students are taking advantage of this opportunity. A hot breakfast is always a great way to start off their day!
Your child may be coming home and talking to you about the drills we have been having at school. Safety is always at the forefront of our minds, and we want all students to be prepared with the knowledge of what to do should an emergency situation arise. Thus far, your child has participated in a fire and tornado drill, and will soon participate in a lockdown drill. The teachers do an amazing job of preparing the students prior to the drills, so they are well aware that it is only a drill. If you ever have any questions or concerns about the drills we practice in our building, please feel free to reach out to me.
As we continue getting our school year underway, I want to encourage all of you to get involved with what is happening in your child's classroom and around our school. Our APPLES organization is a great way to get involved. They are a group of fun, hardworking parents who do a lot for our students and our school. I know they would really appreciate your help in planning activities and volunteering for different events. Watch for more information on a future meeting date. These meetings are held virtually which makes it very easy for busy parents to attend.
If at any time throughout the school year you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me by phone or email - 765-647-4191 or blake@fccsc.k12.in.us. Let's work together to make your child's educational journey the best it can possibly be.
Best regards,
Beth Lake, Principal

Important Reminders/Announcements
If you haven't already done so, please be sure to read through all of the information in your child's registration folder. There is important information regarding our corporation attendance policy and our cell phone/smart watch policy.
Is your child interested in Cub Scouts? Come learn more about Brookville Cub Scouts Pack 46, including what they do and how to join on Wednesday, September 3rd at 6pm at the MCS Cafeteria. We look forward to seeing you there!
Please contact our office before 2:00, if you need to make a change in your child's after school plans. For example, if your child needs to go to LatchKey or be a car rider instead of a bus rider, Margaret would need to know that before 2:00 so that the teacher and student can be notified. If you need to make changes in bus routing, you would need to contact the corporation transportation department at 765-647-4128.
