Burke Bulletin #8
Time flies...
When you're busy and having fun!
January is speeding by and we are busy here at BTS. January brought in Winter Activities, a long cherished tradition here at BTS. Recently, when trying to discover when we first began doing Winter Activities, I wasn't actually able to nail down a year! All I can say is that some folks who now work for our district, and attended BTS, remember participating when they were here. Winter Activities truly embodies so much of what we hold near and dear: the importance of outdoor, physical activity; community building; strong relationships and joy! These Wednesdays are full of student pride, courage, tenacity and grit...not to mention smiles and laughter. I cherish the opportunity to get out and ski with students, riding the chairlift and sharing stories of failures and successes on the slopes. Our ice skaters head to the arena and tackle new skills, tumble and get back up again. Staff get to spend time with students they don't normally get to see, building important connections across the school community. How lucky are we to have such an experience built into our years? I would be remiss if I didn't thank our PTO for all their hard work and dedication to Winter Activities, and also a huge thanks must be given to Ms. Chelsea who has taken on organizing this with a smile and calm. Now please keep reading for some important updates!
