Happy Friday, TC!

What an incredible Expedition Night we had last night!

I want to give a huge shout out to our students, who dedicated so much time to learning, collaborating, creating, and sharing their work. It was truly inspiring to see the depth of thinking, creativity, and pride reflected throughout the building.

A huge thank you also goes to our teachers and staff, whose hard work and dedication make nights like this possible. These experiences don't happen by accident, and I am so grateful for the care and effort that goes into creating meaningful learning opportunities for our students.

And, of course, thank you to our families for joining us and sharing in the joy. The campus was absolutely buzzing with excitement as students proudly showcased their learning—not only to their own families, but also to younger and older siblings, buddy classes, and friends across the school.

I also realized that I missed an opportunity to formally welcome some of our new Thornton Creek families who joined us last night. We were thrilled to have you there and hope you enjoyed getting a sneak peek into the learning, community, and experiences that make Thornton Creek such a special place. We look forward to welcoming you officially in the fall!

Please join us on Tuesday evening for the Annual TCPG Board Meeting. Details can be found below. The board is excited to share the results of this year's board election, and I am looking forward to sharing a few staffing updates and plans for next year as we begin preparing for another great school year together.

Finally, don't forget about what we hope will become a new Thornton Creek tradition—our Senior Walk! If you know a graduating high school senior who attended Thornton Creek, please encourage them to join us on June 10 at 8:05 AM. Seniors will walk the halls one more time as our current students cheer them on and celebrate this important milestone. Caps and Gowns encouraged! There will then be a chance for the TC Alum to gather and reminisce until 9am or so. We would love the opportunity to welcome them back and recognize all they have accomplished.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Warmly,

Brandee

5th Grade Panels | Volunteers Needed | June 9 - 11

It’s nearly time to send our 5th graders off to middle school. First, they’ll participate in one of Thornton Creek’s most beloved traditions: Panels. From June 9 -11, each 5th grader will share what they’ve learned and the passions they’ve discovered during their time at Thornton Creek with a small group of adult community members and teachers (not 5th grade guardians). Panels are an absolute joy and a favorite volunteer opportunity. It takes many volunteers to make them happen! Please sign up below.

For K-4th grade families:

Please sign up here to be a panelist. Time slots range from 50-90 minutes and you can sign up for a few if you'd like. You'll listen attentively to a 10-min presentation and then ask thoughtful questions (don't worry, we've got some to get you started). Listening to our students is just the best. This opportunity is open to current K-4th families, former teachers, former TC families, grandparents, other invested community members, etc.

For 5th grade families:

You can't be a panelist if you have a 5th grader, but you CAN (and hopefully will) sign up to be a parent host (checking kids and panelists in, handing out snacks after, making sure everything runs smoothly). We also need donations of refreshments (juice boxes/sparkling water, chips, granola bars, cookies, fruit like oranges and apples, etc.) for the kids as a treat when they're done. Please sign up for both those roles here.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Chelsea Lin: chelsea.d.lin@gmail.com.

Families of 4th Graders: Please help with our Moving-Up Ceremony | Wednesday, June 17

We’re looking for volunteers to help with our 5th grade moving-up ceremony on Wednesday, June 17th. If you're available to lend a hand, please sign up! If you have any questions, please contact Sterling Maximo at volunteer@thorntoncreekparentgroup.org. Thank you so much!

Lost and Found

Our Lost and Found is outside. We will keep all thing lost today, through the end of the year, in our building until June 17. On June 17th all lost items will be outside our front door through the end of the month.
