Principal's Point Principal's Point

As we move further into the final stretch of the school year, we want to remind students and families to dress appropriately for the changing weather. While many days are becoming quite hot, we still experience occasional cooler days. Please ensure students are prepared for both extremes by dressing in layers and wearing weather-appropriate clothing to stay comfortable throughout the day.

With swimming field trips approaching, students are required to bring proper swimwear. Please note that cotton t-shirts are not permitted in the pool for safety and hygiene reasons. Swimsuits should be brought on the scheduled swim days to ensure full participation in this important physical education component.

Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) are currently being written by our Grade 6 and Grade 9 students. Attendance is critical for these students, as these assessments play a significant role in their academic progression. We ask all other students to be especially mindful of noise levels in the hallways during testing times to support a quiet, focused environment for those writing.

With just one month of learning remaining, we continue to emphasize the importance of staying focused in class. This is a valuable time for review, consolidation, and preparation for transitions to the next grade. We appreciate your support in encouraging students to make the most of each school day as we head toward the end of the academic year.

Announcement! Announcement!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am writing to formally confirm my acceptance of the position as Acting Principal during Sara Woofenden’s maternity leave. I am honored to step into this role and support the school community during her time away.

To the parents of the students I currently teach, I want to say how much I will miss our daily classroom interactions. However, I’m happy to share that I will continue teaching science, which allows me to stay connected with students in a subject I love. I appreciate your understanding and support as I take on these new responsibilities.

I look forward to working closely with staff, students, and families to ensure a smooth and successful transition. Thank you for your partnership as I take on this role. I am committed to maintaining a positive and supportive environment for our students, staff, and families throughout this upcoming school year.

Sincerely,

Bernie Kirk

Grade 9 Fun Day Grade 9 Fun Day

The grade 9 class chose to do a Fun Day Field Trip to celebrate the end of their time at Milo School. They traveled to Activate Calgary where they participated in active games and then went out for a yummy lunch. We will miss this awesome group of young people.
