Dear Brahma Family,
I hope everyone had a rejuvenating week away from school. A reminder for our seniors: the deadline for UC and CSU applications is this Thursday. December is also looming, which means Finals Week is swiftly approaching. I hope everyone finishes the semester strong.
On the first Saturday of the break, our Thundering Herd had an outstanding performance at the Arcadia Band Review. After watching the other bands in the top division compete before the Brahmas, one could really appreciate the exceptional talent of our marching band. A special commendation to our dedicated band directors, Mr. Acciani and Ms. Santos, for orchestrating an incredible season.
Before we left for the break, members of the WVUSD Human Resources Department came to DBHS to honor Ms. McCurry as the Classified Employee of the Month. Also know as the Cornerstone Award, this prestigious award is bestowed upon a staff member who exemplifies and embodies the exceptional service that defines WVUSD. Ms. McCurry works in the Guidance Office and supports our Assistant Principal Ms. Corona and our GLCs. Her nominator, Mr. Patterson, expressed the most important reason why she deserved the award by simply stating that she treats every student with the same care she would want for her own children. We are fortunate to work alongside Ms. McCurry every day.
