Dear Families,

I hope this message finds you and your loved ones well. As we move through the school year, I want to take a moment to express my deep appreciation for your ongoing support, trust, and partnership. Our students continue to impress us each day with their curiosity, resilience, and kindness—and that’s thanks, in no small part, to the strong foundation they have at home.

Across our classrooms, we’re seeing meaningful learning take place: students asking thoughtful questions, engaging in collaborative work, and taking pride in their growth. Our teachers and staff remain deeply committed to creating a learning environment that is not only academically rich, but also nurturing and inclusive.

Looking ahead, we have several important events on the calendar, including: Oct 2nd- fall pictures, Oct 13th-end of the first nine weeks, Oct 17th nine weeks reward of a Glow Party, and Oct 23rd-Haunted School.

🎉As students continue to grow and learn, we use nine weeks incentives to encourage great choices. The first nine weeks reward is a glow party. Students that make good choices, receive "Owl Bucks" and will also have a chance to participate in the glow party. Last year our students had a blast. We hope that families can encourage great choices at home and at school, so students may enjoy these nine weeks rewards.🎉

🚨Struggling students will participate in reteach; staff will reteach the expectations.🚨

Anyone wishing to become a Berkeley County Schools volunteer must watch the Meghan's Law Training Video from the West Virginia Department of Education followed by completion of a quiz before a background check can be completed.

Regular school attendance matters, but if your student misses school, you can submit your student's absence online using the Parent Absence Note Form

We understand that older siblings may need to walk our kiddos home. Please be sure your child's teacher is aware of this arrangement. We have a new form to be completed by parents/guardians of students that are walked home by siblings that are under 18 years of age. Once the teacher is made aware, we will send home the form.

If your student is not an every day parent pick up, please have your ID when you come to pick up your child from the school. It is BCS policy that we check IDs of every person that request to pick up a student. Please keep this in mind and be paitent with staff when your ID is requested.
