All Night Grad Party Planning

We invite any junior or senior parents to the next meeting on January 3rd at 6:00 at SHS in the library conference room. If you are not able to attend, but would like to be a part of the event, please email Nicky Wilson at nickyw2433@gmail.com to be included on future meeting notices.

Volunteers

Anyone (even PTSA members) volunteering during the school day will need to follow the District's volunteer process and complete the background check. If you plan to help out at Superior High School, please visit the link below and complete the 2 PART process. If you need assistance with the fee associated with the background check, please email leann.egnash@superior.k12.wi.us and she can help you. We do not want this fee to deter you from making a positive difference at our school.

Human Growth & Development Lesson

On January 9, 2024 students in grades 10-12 will receive a booster Human Growth and Development lesson and a booster Signs of Suicide-suicide prevention lesson in advisory.

Please check your email for information sent from our counselors about each lesson and the option to opt out your child for either lesson.

Here are the slides to the lessons that students will see if you would like to preview them.

As with many things, parents are great resources and educators for their children on these important topics. Our goal is to support and supplement the dialogue between parents and students.

FIrst Step to Calm in a Crisis: Move

Your teen is freaking out: what can you do to help? Become a stress coach and get them to break the cycle so they can think. Stress hormones are flooding their body––those same stress hormones that told our ancestors to run when they saw a tiger. So tell your teen to drop what they’re doing and move. Literally. Get up and exercise, even if it’s just to take a walk around the block to calm down. Until they burn through that excess adrenaline, they’re not going to be able to think. So get them calm by getting them moving.
