The Barton Scoop

STEM Night at Clara Barton Elementary was a slam dunk! Students and families came together for an evening filled with engaging activities centered on the engineering and design process. The theme, Sports, brought an extra layer of excitement as participants tackled challenges like designing a golf club, lacrosse stick, and more. A huge thank you to CHEA for supporting this event and helping make it such a success! It was wonderful to see our community collaborating, learning, and having fun. A special shoutout to our teachers and volunteers for organizing such an unforgettable evening! Our CBE Stem committee knows how to plan an amazing event!

In honor of American Education Week, we are excited to showcase the amazing learning happening across all grade levels here at CBE! We will feature different areas of our day here at CBE in a special edition of our School Scoop—so stay tuned!

This week, we celebrate and express our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible team of teachers, support staff, facilities crew, and front office staff who make our school such a wonderful place to learn and grow.

We also want to extend a special thank you to our CBE community of parents and caregivers. Your unwavering support for our students and staff is truly appreciated and makes a world of difference.

November 27, 2024 - Early Dismissal

November 28 & 29, 2024 - Thanksgiving Recess

All Cherry Hill elementary and middle schools will follow an Early Dismissal Schedule (1:00pm dismissal for Elementary) from December 9th-December 13th.

Elementary Conference Schedule:

December 9th: 6:00pm – 8:00pm

December 10th: 2:20pm – 4:00pm

December 11th: 6:00pm – 8:00pm

December 12th 2:20pm – 4:00pm

Scheduling through the Genesis Parent Portal will be available to parents/guardians 11/18/24 – 12/5/24.

At Clara Barton Elementary, we take careful precautions to ensure a smooth and safe flow of traffic during arrival and dismissal times, and we *need your support* to keep it that way.

Please remember to:

- Adhere to the speed limit in our parking lot.

- Avoid parking on the grass or double parking at dismissal.

- *Do not block crosswalks*—this is critical for the safety of our students.

Blocking crosswalks has been an ongoing issue in the neighborhood around Barton, and the Cherry Hill Police Department (CHPD) has been contacted to help address this. Parking in crosswalks is *extremely dangerous*; our children need clear, safe pathways to cross.

Finally, please respect our traffic safety team members as they work hard to keep everyone safe. Thank you for helping us create a safe environment for all!

We invite you to a 45-minute virtual Parent University information session on Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB). We will discuss the harassment, intimidation, & bullying definition, ways to report HIB, investigation process, appeal process, and resources.

Sessions will be held at 6:00 PM on:

• October 17, 2024
• October 18, 2024
• October 24, 2024
• November 19, 2024

Limited spots are available. Be sure to click on this link and register for your preferred date. All information sessions will be the same, so parents/guardians do not need to attend multiple sessions.
