SNAP Benefits

Dear Manville Families,

New Jersey was notified by the federal government that if the shutdown continues, November 2025 SNAP benefits will not be available on November 1.

SNAP benefits loaded on your Families First EBT card prior to October 31, 2025 will be available for you to use after November 1, 2025. Before going to the grocery store after November 1, we encourage SNAP food assistance recipients to check their account at NJFamiliesFirst.com or by calling 800-997-3333. If there are SNAP benefits in your NJ FamiliesFirst account, they are available for you to use.

Please note, you may receive eligibility notices and your MyNJHelps case summary may show that you are eligible for November benefits. Even though you may receive an eligibility notice and the benefits show in your case summary, if the federal shutdown continues, November 2025 SNAP benefits will not be posted to your Families First EBT card on time.

Because November SNAP benefits are not available as a result of a federal shutdown, fair hearings will not be scheduled for this issue.

SNAP applications and recertifications will be processed. Continue to submit requested information to ensure you get your benefits when federal SNAP funding becomes available.

For the most current information, visit The Department of Human Services NJ SNAP Website, or follow the Department on social media.

We’d like to remind our families that the Manville School District provides free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch options for students who qualify. View our November menus here.

For questions and assistance, contact Julianna Fragulis in the Business Office at 908-231-8500 x 8503 or jfragulis@manvillesd.org. Additional support and resources can be found on the district website under Useful Links.

DΓa de los Muerto

This vibrant DΓa de los Muertos banner was created by Mrs. Collymore, her 4th grade class and in collaboration with Mrs. Bachrach, the ESL teacher. Together, the students designed a banner-style altar that highlights the rich Mayan and Hispanic cultures of Latin American countries. Their display explains the meaning of DΓa de los Muertos and features the traditional items found on an ofrenda (altar), describing their cultural and spiritual significance. Through their research and writing, the students honor the celebration of life, memory, and tradition that defines this beautiful holiday.

🌟 Leadership Council 🌟

Are you interested in being a student leader and the voice of your classroom? Consider joining our Leadership Council.

✨Two representatives will be voted into the Leadership Council per homeroom. Over the next few weeks students who are interested will be campaigning by hanging school approved posters and presenting a speech to their class. Election Day for Leadership Council is 11/10 & winners will be announced 11/14. GOOD LUCK COLTS!✨

πŸ’» NJSLA Adaptive Testing - Grade 4

On Wednesday and Thursday of last week our 4th Grade Colts took the NJSLA Adaptive Field Test. Just a reminder that there are no student scores or results associated with this testβ€”its purpose is simply to help improve and refine the assessment system for all New Jersey students.

We are very proud of our Roosevelt Colts for their hard work and focus during testing. Thank you for your continued support in helping our students do their best every day! πŸ’™πŸ΄

A special shoutout to Ms. Gonzalez, our Roosevelt School Testing Coordinator, for all of her hardwork in planning, organizing, and problem solving throughout this process. πŸ’›
