A Message from Mr. Demers A Message from Mr. Demers

Dear DRRHS Families,

As October comes to a close and we prepare to turn the calendar to November, there is certainly plenty to be excited about across DRRHS. Our campus continues to be filled with activity, and the weeks ahead promise even more opportunities to celebrate our students and school community. Here are a few highlights:

  • Thank you to everyone who helped make our annual Green and Gold Night such a success. It was amazing to welcome so many 7th and 8th grade students and families from across the district and give them an opportunity to see firsthand that there truly is something for everyone at DRRHS. A huge thank you to our students and staff who helped showcase all that makes DRRHS such a special community.

  • As our fall athletic teams move toward the end of their regular seasons, we have had the opportunity to celebrate a number of Senior Nights over the past week. We want to thank all of our senior fall student-athletes for their years of hard work, commitment, and dedication to DRRHS Athletics. Their contributions have helped our fall programs continue to shine, and we are incredibly proud of all they have given to their teams and our school.

  • Our award-winning DRRHS Theatre Program is hard at work preparing for its fall production of Steel Magnolias. We hope everyone will make plans to join us in the DRRHS Auditorium on November 19th and 20th to support our talented student performers and crew.

November is shaping up to be another great month at DRRHS, capped off by our annual Spirit Week and Pep Rally before Thanksgiving. As we head into a busy third month of the school year, we look forward to seeing our families and community members back on campus for one of the many events ahead.

Have a great weekend and a safe and fun Halloween!

With Falcon Pride,

Dustin Demers
Principal, DRRHS

Student Athlete Attendance Reminder Student Athlete Attendance Reminder

Just a reminder that if a student athlete is absent during the school day they should not be attending a sporting event to support their team. Student health is always paramount and if a student is not able to attend school due to an injury or illness they should not attend a game even as a spectator.

Student Drop off and Pick Up Procedures Student Drop off and Pick Up Procedures

Morning bus/car drop off procedures for the 2026-2027 school year will be as follows:

  • Dighton buses will drop off in the circle outside of the Superintendent's Foyer
  • Rehoboth buses will drop off at the circle in front of the High School Main Office
  • Students being dropped off via a vehicle will be dropped off in the circle outside of the Superintendent's Office. Students can be dropped off at the High School main office ONLY after busses have departed. Please do not drop your child off while busses are lined up outside of the high school main office. Students needing to be dropped off before buses have departed should drop off at the corner of the faculty parking lot and the high school entrance circle.
  • Once buses are gone students arriving closer to 7:15 can be dropped off in front of the main office

Thank you for your flexibility with this system, this all keeps Regional Road safer for our students and families every morning.

Please note that afternoon pick up will remain exactly as it has been in previous years with families picking up at the corner where the staff lot meets the high school entrance circle.

Important Policies Important Policies

Attendance Policy

For student discipline purposes, an unexcused absence will constitute 1 attendance infraction; 2 unexcused tardies or dismissals, or any combination thereof, will constitute 1 attendance infraction.

On a day when a student has an unexcused absence, the student is ineligible to participate in a school-sponsored event, including athletics, on that day.

5 attendance infractions in a term will result in Saturday School.
Until the assigned Saturday School obligation is met, a student is not eligible to participate in extracurricular activities, including athletics. Additionally, if a Saturday School is assigned for disciplinary purposes and the student does not attend, they may also be subject to further disciplinary action, including but not limited to suspension from school.

Students who are tardy will NOT be permitted to bring food or drink purchased outside of school into the building.

Students with driving permits who exhibit persistent and/or excessive tardiness (more than 8 in a semester) to school will lose their driving privilege.

Student Cellphone and Electronic Device Policy

Adopted 9/22/26

The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all students. The District's mission to educate children is compromised when personal electronic devices create distractions that interfere with teaching, learning, and student engagement. While we recognize the important role technology plays in communication and connectivity, the District must balance those benefits with its responsibility to maintain an effective educational environment.

The success of this policy requires the support and collaboration of students, families, staff, and administrators. The District respects the decisions made by parents and guardians to provide their children with cell phones and other personal electronic devices; however, expectations for their use in school will vary based on students' developmental and educational needs.

Students who bring cell phones or other personal electronic devices to school do so at their own risk. Students and parents/guardians assume responsibility for any loss, damage, or theft of such devices. The District shall not be liable for lost, damaged, or stolen devices, including those confiscated in accordance with school rules or disciplinary procedures. All cellular phones and personal electronic devices brought to school must be used in accordance with District policies, school rules, and student handbooks.

The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District does not provide a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) instructional environment. Students are expected to use District-issued devices for classroom learning and academic activities unless otherwise authorized.

Grades PK-12

The use of cell phones and personal electronic devices during the school day is prohibited. Devices brought to school must be powered off or silenced and kept out of sight for the duration of the school day unless expressly authorized by school administration.

Enforcement

Students who violate this policy may be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with applicable school and District disciplinary procedures. Consequences may include the temporary confiscation of devices, loss of privileges, parent/guardian notification, or restrictions on bringing personal electronic devices to school.

Each school level will establish procedures and expectations for implementation of this policy documented in the unified student handbook and code of conduct.

Administrative Review and Exceptions

The Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Principal, or designee may approve exceptions to this policy when deemed appropriate for educational, medical, safety, accessibility, emergency, or other legitimate school-related purposes. Requests for exceptions shall be subject to administrative review and approval. Access to personal electronic devices during the school day is a privilege that may be restricted or revoked when students fail to use such devices responsibly. The District reserves the right to interpret, implement, and apply this policy in a manner consistent with student needs, school operations, and applicable laws and regulations.

Fall SATs now open to register! DR hosting Nov 7th and March 6th.

SAT® registration is now open for fall 2026. SkillsUSA – Student Competition Opportunities for the 2026–2027 School Year!

We are excited to continue growing our school's involvement in SkillsUSA! SkillsUSA is a national career and technical student organization that helps students develop leadership, workplace, and technical skills to prepare them for success beyond high school.

Last year, our school earned an impressive 8 medals across various SkillsUSA competitions, and we are looking to build on that success by expanding student participation this year!

We are currently looking for student officers and competitors for the 2026–2027 school year. SkillsUSA is open to all Career and Technical Education (CTE) students and provides opportunities to develop leadership skills, compete in career-related events, and potentially earn scholarships.

Students interested in becoming a SkillsUSA officer or participating as a competitor can sign up below.

For any questions or additional information, please see Ms. Johnson in the Main Office.
