March
Dear Parkwood Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you well! We're excited to share some updates and reminders as we continue through this wonderful month of March.
Celebrations from the Week 🎉
Thank you for supporting our Kindergarten/PEEP Orientation and our Board Recognition!
- A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Kindergarten/PEEP Orientation. It was wonderful to meet both returning families and those who are new to Parkwood. We are grateful for your engagement as we prepare for the 2026–2027 enrollment year for incoming kindergarten and PreK families. Please help spread the word — the enrollment link is below.
- Thank you as well to the teachers and families who attended the KPS Board Meeting to celebrate students recognized there. It was a proud moment to see our Panthers honored — great work, Parkwood students!
🌟 Global Reading Challenge Celebration
Congratulations to The Crazy Clownfish from Mrs. Vankirk's class for their amazing victory in our Building Global Reading Challenge! Your hard work, teamwork, and love of reading—along with that of all our 4th and 5th grade participants—have made us so proud. A special thank you to all the students who competed and their teachers for championing a love of reading and supporting these incredible teams! Best of luck as The Crazy Clownfish advance to the Branch Challenge on Monday, March 16 at 6:30 PM at the Eastwood Branch Library—we can't wait to cheer you on! 📚✨

Family–teacher collaboration is so important in supporting a child's learning journey. We aim for 100% conference attendance because your voice and involvement matter. The conference sign-up links were emailed earlier this week; I have attached the link again below in case you still need to sign up. If you have questions or need assistance with scheduling, please reach out to the office or your child’s teacher.
Thank You!
As always, we appreciate your support and involvement in our school community. Your partnership is crucial in making Parkwood Elementary a wonderful place for our children to learn and grow.
I hope everyone had a great weekend! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
