Summer Reading Assignment Summer Reading Assignment

zoom_out_map

Middle School students are expected to read a book over the summer. Students should read a novel and complete either the assignment for a fiction or nonfiction book, based on their selection. Many of the book selections are available through the MackinLibrary app which can found on their Clever pages of their school Chromebooks.

This summer assignment will count as a homework grade for their ELA classes in September. Their ELA teachers may provide a test and/or project connected to the summer reading. Any support you may offer your student in completing this task would be greatly appreciated.

If your child needs medication 2025-2026 school year, please remember the following:

** All medication must be in a labeled container from the store. All prescriptions must be in a labeled container from the pharmacy with the student’s name on and correct dose. (In the case of an inhaler, it must be in the box from the pharmacy or be accompanied by a doctor’s note.)

** All medication must have a note from the parent/ guardian

** Any changes in dosage need to be in writing. If it is a prescription medication, we must have a note from the doctor. (We can only give medication according to the store label or doctor’s orders.)

** All medication needs to be transported by an adult.

HAVE A HAPPY AND HEALTHY SUMMER!!!

Additional Reminders:

1.If your student needs medication in school, please have their doctor complete the medication form and have an adult bring the medication to the school nurse.

2. If your student calls or texts you and asks you to pick them up from school, please remind them to see the nurse. Students should head to the nurse when they are not feeling well to be checked out by Nurse Keenan. If she feels that your student needs to come home, she will call you.

3.Please see below for school immunization requirements. ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, unless the child has a medical or religious/philosophical exemption, a child must have had at least one dose of the listed vaccinations or risk exclusion.
