Principal's Message

SES Families,

We have made it through August! It has been really neat to see students make friends and grow closer with their classmates!

Our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Tidd has begun to visit classrooms to discuss “What is bullying?” We want students to know what bullying is and feel prepared if they encounter it. We are working hard each day, to ensure that we are creating and maintaining an environment where everyone is kind to their peers.

We do not have school on Monday, Sept. 4th due to Labor Day. Enjoy the three day weekend!

Ms. Witkemper

Help With Last Minute Changes in Transportation

We understand that plans sometimes change. However when we have changes at the end of the day close to dismissal time it can lead to stress and confusion.

If you would like your child to be a car rider for the day, please contact the office before 3:00. That gives us time to contact classroom teachers and ensure we know where students are going at the end of the day.

If you plan to pick up your child at the end of the day, you should go through car rider line. If you park and attempt to come in and get your student on the day between 3:30-3:45, you will be asked to please go back outside and wait in car rider line. We again, understand that exceptions, such as doctor appointments, will come up. But, we are trying to avoid students regularly being picked up from the office at the end of the day, so car rider line can be avoided.

Thank you for your help with this matter!

Panorama Survey Information Panorama Survey Information

August 7, 2023

Dear Perry Township Schools Parents,

Perry Township Schools (PTS) remains committed to the academic, social and emotional growth of all of our students. We are happy to announce that we will be utilizing a survey through Panorama Education to capture student voice and allow students to express their perspectives about self management, social awareness and their well-being.

The survey results will help PTS teachers, administrators and counselors gauge student growth and understanding around social and emotional competencies, which contribute to academic success and increase engagement in the classroom.

Our students in grades K-2 will be answering the Panorama survey with the help of a classroom teacher, and our students in grades 3-8 will answer questions on their own. All survey responses will take place at school. The survey will take about 20 minutes of their classroom time and provide our district with valuable information that will help us better meet the needs of our students.

We anticipate that we will begin survey administration on September 11. We will likely have all surveys completed by September 15, 2023. If a parent or guardian chooses to not have their child participate in the anonymous survey, they must contact their school office by September 1st. Please call at 317-789-3300 or email kwitkemper@perryschools.org to opt out of the survey.

If you would like to learn more about the Panorama survey, including the full set of questions that your child will be asked, please use this link.

Thank you for your continued support of our Perry Township Schools.

Sincerely,

Jon Romine
