One week left and lots happening! I'll try to break it down as easily as I can, but please reach out if you have any questions!!

Monday 12/16
- UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER DAY!!!
- Student will be taking the Reading Mid Year Benchmark! We can't wait to see how much growth they have made!
- Each student is assigned a testing group. They should have received their testing group information last week...but if they did not, we will share that info at breakfast and in the gym before school starts!
- They will test in the morning, go to lunch, and then attend 5th, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd period.

Tuesday 12/17
- Wear Red/White (Candycane) OR TTU colors! (red & Black)
- Students not attending the Behavior Trip will have a normal day in their classes.
- Behavior Trip
- I will meet briefly with students attending the trip on Monday afternoon.
- See the photo below for prices on items at the concession stand.
- Students will check into 1st period and immediately be called out of class to get on the bus and leave.
- Please send jackets/wear pants as we don't know what the weather will entail (the wind ALWAYS blows in Lubbock and 55 degrees can seem chilly. It will be 34 when we leave).
- Only clear bags can be brought into the United Spirit Arena. Girls - plan accordingly.
- We should be back no later than 4:30.
- Students can bring their phones, so we will have them text you when we get to Paducah and I will post on the Bobcat App & Facebook.
Wednesday 12/18
- Wear your favorite Christmas Pajamas!
- Students will be taking the MATH Mid Year Benchmark!
- Again, they will have personalized testing groups which they should know by Wednesday.
- They will test in the morning, go to lunch, and then attend 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th period.
Thursday 12/19
- CJHS Girls Basketball
- 8th B team HOME vs. Groom 5:00pm
- Winter Band Concert @CJHS 6:00pm
- CJHS plays first, followed by the HS band
- The entire community is invited!!
Semester Tests
- Semester Tests will be Thursday 12/19 and Friday 12/20.
- Students who have 3 or fewer non school absences may be exempt from semester tests.
- Students who have 4 or more non school absences (excused OR unexcused) must take semester tests. For JH & HS this is per period. (For example...if you child has 3 absences for 1st - 6th period...they are exempt from those classes. However, if they have 4 absences in 7th and 8th, they must take semester tests in those classes)
- We have notified students which tests they must take & sent a paper. home.
- If your student misses any day Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of this week...it may affect their exemptions.
- Semester Test Schedule:
- Thursday 12/19
- 8:00 - 8:55: 4th period
- 9:00 - 9:55: 1st period
- 10:00 - 10:55: 2nd period
- 11:00 - 11:55: 3rd period
- Lunch is served from 12 - 12:30 if desired. Students can be picked up at 11:55 but busses won't run until 3:35. I highly encourage you to find a way for your child to be picked up or walk home by 11:55 or 12:30.
- Friday 12/20
- 8:00 - 8:55: 5th period
- 9:00 - 9:55: 6th period
- 10:00 - 10:55: 7th period
- 11:00 - 11:55: 8th period
- Lunch is served 12:00-12:30. Busses run at 12:30.
UIL Awards Ceremony
- The UIL Awards Ceremony will be Wednesday 1/8/25 at 3:05pm in the CJHS Auditorium!
- We will run a Pep Rally Schedule that day!
- The community and parents of UIL students are welcome to attend!
