WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 20, 2020

Egg Harbor TownshipHigh School WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 20, 2020

A Message From Our Principal A Message From Our Principal

Greetings,

As we continue on “the road back,” we are reminded that the virtual world we are in is preparing us for the in person schools days to come. October is almost here and if it flies by as September has we will be back in school soon, even if it’s a few days a week. Again, I am enjoying seeing our teachers in the building anxiously awaiting for their classroom to be alive again.

A survey has been sent out to gather more updated information. During the summer months we had asked parents if their children would be returning in a hybrid schedule or if parents wanted to stay virtual. With the short delay to open it is possible for parents to have changed their minds. I hope all parents participated so we can make our schedules and get the students back to school. Once the information is sorted information will be coming out to help you get started in our next phase of the road back.

It’s not too late to pick up your needed books and materials. We want all students to be successful. Contact your Assistant Principal to make an appointment to come into the building and pick up your materials.

This past Tuesday was “National Voters Registration Day.” Mr. Martirone’s AP Government and Politics class did a video presentation on the importance of this election and getting your voice heard with voting. The video shared step by step instructions on how to register and participate in your civic duty as American Citizens. It’s not too late to register and make a difference! You can view the video below.

As you are well aware our District Mission statement is to Embrace, Engage and Educate all students. Our teachers have spent two weeks getting to know and build relationships with your children. Embracing them in the virtual setting. We now engage them into their daily instruction so they will be proficient and well educated young people. Parents continue to do your part in getting the students involved in their education. It’s important that they are in each and every day and ready to learn. Our teachers and staff will do the rest.

Until next week, stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone! #ehtpride #ehtstrong #goeagles

Senior Ambassadors Adjust to the Virtual World

If we were all in school right now, the Senior Ambassadors would be going into the freshman study halls throughout the day to provide their students with useful information, and assist them with any questions they may have. We're making the best of things, so we had to switch things around in order for us to provide outreach to our students! Since the first week of school, 9th grade students have been receiving wellness information and support, as well as participating in activities virtually.

This week marks the first of many planned Ambassador-led virtual presentations, <see link below> aimed to share what our seniors feel is most important for our freshmen students to know; that they wish they could share with them in person. Great job Senior Ambassadors!! Keep up the good work!! 😁

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT

NEW Virtual or Hybrid Survey

Please complete this important SURVEY (linked) by September 24, 2020. This NEW survey will provide the most recent data in regards to each student's commitment to either a hybrid or virtual learning experience. During this implementation, parents will have the opportunity to choose if their child will participate in-person, or if you would prefer to choose all virtual learning. This survey will be considered your commitment to an instructional option for your child which is anticipated to begin on October 26th. Changes in commitment during the school year (opting in and out) will ONLY occur as follows:

  • OPTION #1 (Hybrid) to Option #2 (Virtual) will require a written notice to the Principal.
  • OPTION #2 (Virtual) to Option #1 (Hybrid) can ONLY occur at the conclusion of a marking period/trimester with minimally 2 WEEKS written notice to the Principal.

NOTE: A survey must be completed for EVERY school-aged child in your household. (For example: Four children would equal four surveys). Additionally, for students attending in-person learning for Pre-School or Special Education Programming parents do NOT need to complete this form for that child as they will continue with their current in-person programming.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this important survey so that we can best plan to meet the needs of your child as well as our school community.
