Principal's Message Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Community Members,

Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent election for our School Site Council (SSC) Parent/Community Representatives. We had strong participation, and your votes ensured that teacher voices are well represented on the council.

I am pleased to announce the results:

🎉 Congratulations to our elected SSC Parent/Community Member Representatives:

  • Kaela Heseman

  • Manuela Velasquez

Kaela Heseman and Manuela Velasquez will serve alongside our returning Parent/Community Representatives—Nelly Elizondo, Lila Murillo, and Lindsey Buirch—on the School Site Council. They will assist in reviewing student achievement data, guide our School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), and collaborate on decisions that support the success of all students at Beckman Elementary.

I would like to congratulate and thank our elected representatives for their leadership and commitment to our school community.

Storm Drain Detectives Storm Drain Detectives

We proudly recognize these seven sixth grade students for participating in Storm Drain Detectives on Tuesday, August 18: Aubrey Covington, Jaylah Ramos, Dominic Lial, Edgar Guillen, Penelope Baldwin, and Muhammad Khan.

They worked as citizen scientists to help monitor the water quality of our local waterway, the Mokelumne River. Throughout their participation they were curious, responsible, respectful, and demonstrated a commitment to caring for our local environment. Their eagerness to collect data, make observations, and contribute to real-world scientific research shows that young people can truly make a meaningful difference in our community!

We are especially grateful to Mrs. Jacinto, our beloved Instructional Coach, for providing our Bobcats with this hands-on opportunity to engage in meaningful science and make a positive impact on our local environment!

E-Bike and Scooter Safety E-Bike and Scooter Safety

If your child is riding an E-Bike or scooter to school, please review the following information provided to Lodi USD by law enforcement to ensure that your child is following regulations and is riding with safety.

  • E-Bikes - There are three classifications of e-bikes. All e-bikes must have an electric motor of less than 750 watts.
    • Class 1 and 2: These e-bikes are similar to regular bicycles. They can be identified as pedal assisted with an electric motor that reaches a maximum speed of 20mph. Class 1 and 2 riders must wear a helmet while riding and adhere to the same regulations as regular bicycles.
    • Class 3: These e-bikes are pedal assisted with an electric motor that ceases to provide power at 28mph. These e-bikes have age restrictions, riders must be 16 years or older, and must be wearing a helmet at all times when riding.

  • Motorized Scooters - Motorized scooters are two-wheeled devices with a floorboard or seat, and are powered by an electric motor.
    • Riders of motorized scooters must be 16 years of age or older, and must have a valid driver's license or learner's permit to legally ride. Riders must also wear a helmet.

Please help us keep students safe by ensuring these regulations are followed. Thank you!
