In Curriculum and Instruction, we want every student to feel excited and confident about learning. Guided by the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), our teachers work hard to build strong foundations in reading, writing, math, science, social studies and even our electives. We also make sure students have opportunities to think creatively, solve problems, and work together. Our goal is simple: supporting a strong curriculum to help our teachers so that all students shine today and be ready for the bright future ahead.

Engaged Learning Through Routines and Data-Driven Instruction

In our classrooms, student engagement is nurtured through strong routines and clear procedures that help students feel confident and ready to learn. Teachers are using real-time data to identify student strengths and needs, then applying that information to guide small group instruction. With consistent routines in place, students can transition smoothly into small groups, stay focused, and take ownership of their learning. These groups allow teachers to provide personalized support, challenge students at the right level, and foster collaboration among peers. By combining meaningful engagement, structured routines, and data-driven instruction, we ensure every student is actively involved in their learning journey and growing with confidence.

Rockenbaugh 4th Graders Turn Math into Meaningful Giving!

Rockenbaugh fourth grade classes have been working on place value and decimals in math. As a culminating activity, they had a garage/craft sale on Friday, September 26th to apply the skills learned in this unit. Each student opened their own business, and each entrepreneur sold items and totaled the cash sales. Students were also permitted to shop in other 4th grade classes. All proceeds were collected and donated to the Miracle League of Southlake.
