Dear Hirsch Hawk Parents and Guardians,
As we conclude Black History Month, we are excited to celebrate with a special themed dress-up week! This is a great way for our students and staff to honor Black history, culture, and achievements in a fun and engaging way—no matter your heritage or background. We invite everyone to participate and show their spirit!
Here’s what to expect for our dress-up days:
🖤 Monday – "Black is Beautiful": Wear all black to show unity and pride.
⚾ Tuesday – "Strike 'Em Out Like Jackie": Wear your favorite sports attire in honor of Jackie Robinson and Black athletes who broke barriers.
🎓 Wednesday – "Young, Gifted, and Black": Represent Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) by wearing HBCU or college attire.
❤️💚🖤 Thursday – "African Pride": Wear red, green, or black to celebrate African heritage and culture.
👔🤠 Friday – "I Have a Dream" & Go Texan Day: Wear your "Sunday Best" in honor of Dr. King’s iconic speech—or join in on the Houston Rodeo spirit and celebrate the legacy of Black cowboys and cowgirls!
To keep the celebration going, here are some fun family-friendly activities you can enjoy in Houston during Rodeo season:
🐴 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo – Experience exciting rodeo events, carnival rides, and delicious food!
🎶 Attend a Rodeo Concert – Enjoy live music from top artists performing at NRG Stadium.
🐂 Trail Ride & Downtown Rodeo Parade – Witness real cowboys and cowgirls as they ride into Houston for Go Texan Day!
🌾 Explore the AgVenture Barn – A hands-on learning experience with farm animals and agriculture.
🍗 Try the Famous Rodeo Food – Treat your family to iconic rodeo eats like fried Oreos, turkey legs, and BBQ!
We look forward to seeing our Hirsch students and staff showing their spirit this week! Thank you for your support in making our school a place where we celebrate learning, history, and community.
Let’s make it a great week, Hawks!
With gratitude,
Principal Patterson
