PRAYER PRAYER

Lord Jesus Christ,

Deepen in us the sense of reverence and awe at the mystery that we are called to be your Body in the world. May we always live consciously and generously enough to share your life with those in need of hope and healing. You live in the heart of the Father in the unity of the Hoy Spirit, God forever and ever.

Amen.

Principal Leave

For the first six weeks of Term 3 I will be taking a combination of System Leaders' Renewal Leave and Long Service Leave. The System Leaders' Renewal Leave is designed to support the spiritual, personal, and professional renewal of senior leaders within the Catholic Education System. This will allow me to engage in learning experiences that will enhance my leadership capabilities and educational insight, thus benefiting the school and community. During this time, Jennifer Anderson will take on the role of Acting Principal with Robyn Salvia as Acting Assistant Principal. We are very lucky to have Jennifer and Robyn to take on these important leadership roles and I know the school will run fantastically well in my absence.

Grandparents Mass & Morning Tea

We had a fantastic turn out of Grandparents, Parents and Friends at our Mass and Morning Tea on Tuesday. It was great to acknowledge and celebrate the important role Grandparents play in the lives of the children. I would like to thank Mrs Anderson for organising the Mass and the P&F for organising the morning tea, there was plenty of delicious food to choose from.

Student Images

With any event at the school, such as the EDU-Dance concert next week, there is always lots of photos and videos taken of our students from parents and grandparents in our community. We ask that these photos and videos are enjoyed in the family setting only and not shared or posted on social media sites. We have families in our school who have not consented to their child's image being used or shared in any way. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

NAIDOC Week

Held across Australia from 6-13 July 2025, NAIDOC Week will celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of our First Nations people. This year’s theme chosen by the National NAIDOC Committee, is The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy. The theme celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of the young First Nation Leaders, the vision of communities, and the legacy of ancestors.

In Week 10 of this term, in recognition of NAIDOC Week, our classes will participate in activities that celebrate the history, culture and achievements of our First Nations people. It will also be an opportunity to recognise the contributions that Indigenous Australians make to our country and our society. Activities include a NAIDOC Liturgy, Dance Presentation, Arts, Crafts and Music.

EDUDANCE CONCERT

We have our Edu-dance Concert happening in Week 9 (Wednesday 25th June) in the Parish Hall. As in previous years, two concerts will be held to enable all family members to attend if they wish. The PP – Year 6 students will be attending both concerts.

Details of the concerts are:

CONCERT 1: 2.10pm (Years 6, 2, PP and 4)

CONCERT 2: 2.35pm (Years 5, 1, 3 and 6)

Parents and family members are asked to attend only the concert/s of their child/ren’s class. This is to ensure that everyone can attend and have the opportunity to view their child’s performance. There will be a 5- 10 minute changeover at the end of the first concert to allow parents/family members to exit the hall and the new parents to enter.

The students have been working energetically on their dance programs, and look forward to presenting these dances to the community. We thank Miss Winter for her work with the students. She is amazing!

Volunteering

The Government of WA have amended the Working with Children Act last year with the changes implemented to better protect children. Catholic Education WA has mandated this process for all volunteers, including parent volunteers in schools. This includes parents who wish to volunteer at sports carnivals, in classrooms and at P&F events. Could we ask that all parents fill in the Volunteer Declaration (link) even if you have no plans at this stage to volunteer at school. If you filled out the form last year you will need to do it again this year. Parents who wish to assist teachers on excursions will need to be on this list. Your information will be stored securely in accordance with CEWA’s Information Stewardship. We highly value parent volunteers' time and contribution to our school community and thank-you for taking the time to submit the form below.

Any grandparents that wish to volunteer in the classroom or assist in the canteen will need a Working With Children Check. Please note this does not include drop off, pick up or attendance at our Grandparents Mass and Morning Tea. Grandparents that would like to volunteer at school, please contact the school office and we can assist you in the process.
