North Kansas City Schools districtwide family survey began yesterday, Monday, November 4 and will continue through the 22nd of November. We invite and encourage all parents and guardians to participate and share your feedback on a variety of topics, including engagement, decision-making, academics and more. Invitations to participate are being sent out through all district communication channels. The survey will be online and can be taken on a phone, tablet, or computer and is accessible through multiple languages.

Any parent/guardian who completes the survey will be prompted after submitting to enter a drawing for one of two $50 Walmart gift cards, thanks to the support of our fantastic Education Foundation. Choosing to participate in this giveaway is optional.

Just like cell phones, under district policy cell enabled watches are not allowed during the school day. We understand that families often give cell enabled watches to students for safety and general communication purposes. However, during school these devices are not allowed to be used for calls or text messages to ensure proper supervision of communications and to limit distractions while at school.

Our Annual Fox Hill Turkey Trot will be on Friday, November 22nd at 2:30PM. Parents of runners are welcome to come outside and watch the run. You do not need to check in to the office to come and watch the race outside. Please park and head towards the back of the school. Students will be spread out around the race route. The Turkey Trot will start and end on the blacktop. All 3-5th grade runners that signed up will run 2 laps, 1.3 miles. Certificates and turkeys are awarded to the top three girls and top three boy runners! 4th-6th place winners will be rewarded with Ribbons. This is meant to be fun and promote wellness.

After the Turkey Trot, all classes will go back inside for an all school assembly. Due to limited spacing and not being able to securely check parents into the building after the Turkey Trot, parents will not be allowed to come in for the assembly.

Because of the Turkey Trot, we will have a different lunch, encore and recess schedule for the day. We are asking parents not to come up and eat with their child on days that follow this different schedule. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We are also asking for parent volunteers to help supervise along the course. If interested, please sign-up below.

Parents’ Night Out, Kids’ Night In:

Do you need a night out for a holiday party or shopping? Let your kids, Pre-K to 5th grade, hangout with the Staley NHS members for holiday fun and hours of activities.

• $30 per child nonrefundable (Pre-K to 5th grade)
• Money and pre-registration due December 6th – Enrollment is limited to the first 100 children registered
• Check-in will begin at 5:30 that evening.
