If your student has any medication in the Health Office, don't forget that those need to be picked up by 10:00AM on the last day of school. A parent or guardian needs to pick up the meds, we are not allowed to send meds home with your student. Non-emergency meds can be picked up anytime, but emergency meds should stay in the Health Office until the last day of school. Any meds not claimed will be collected and disposed of by the School Nurse, and once they are picked up they cannot be retrieved. Please contact the Health Office with any questions or concerns.

Lesher Bike Week 2025

Attention 8th grade Parents & Guardians! Attention 8th grade Parents & Guardians!

It's time to submit your 8th grader’s short video for the Video Montage!

What is the video montage?

The video montage is a compilation of action snips (2-9 seconds long) from EVERY 8th grade student and set to music. The video will premiere during 8th grade day on May 28.

Parameters:
1) Videos should be recent- ideally from this past year
2) Students must be IN the video (It's okay if they are covered up with sporting equipment or far away)
3) LIVE photos work, but ‘still’ photos do not.

What types of videos are the best?

Short, action videos

Ex : dancing, juggling, trampoline tricks, playing with a pet, horseback riding, tubing, skiing/snowboarding, dirt biking, mountain biking, zipline, archery, gymnastics, cooking/baking, sewing, making pottery, school sports (basketball, volleyball, wrestling, softball, track, tennis, golf, football, cross-country), club sports (hockey, lacrosse, soccer, etc.), snowmobiling, painting, rock climbing, acting, playing instruments, mountain biking, surfing, disc golf, robotics, experiments, hanging out with friends, tiktok dances, magic tricks…you get the idea! Some kids do really awesome feats, but for the most part, it's just middle schoolers having fun and showing another side of themselves that might not be seen in the school day

Are you doing any fun activities over spring break? Any big sporting events coming up? These are fantastic opportunities to get video snips.

How to submit a video snip? There are a few ways!
1) Email
juliat@psdschools.org

2) Fill out this form and upload the shortened video to the Google Form.

3) Upload your video to Google Drive and share it with juliat@psdschools.org

4) Airdrop the video : Students with iPhones can visit me in Room 4 and AirDrop it to me during lunch, ELO or after school.

Submissions close May 17.

Thanks- I look forward to creating an amazing slideshow for this 8th grade class. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions!

FCHS Volleyball Information FCHS Volleyball Information

Hello Lesher!

My name is Sarnen Steinbarth (I used to coach at Lesher and have a 7th grader there)!

I now serve as the Assistant Varsity Coach and Program Coordinator for the Fort Collins High School Girls Volleyball Program. Lesher has had a strong presence in the past years in the volleyball program at FCHS. I’m reaching out to share an upcoming event that may be of interest to Lesher 8th-grade students and families.

We are hosting a Parent and Player Information Night on Tuesday May 13th at 6:00 PM in the Fort Collins High School Commons. This event is for any current 8th grade girls planning to attend FCHS who are interested in playing volleyball, as well as for returning players and their families.

We would greatly appreciate your help in sharing this opportunity with your student body.

More details are available on our website:

A Message from PTO A Message from PTO

Welcome Emily!

Emily Birdsall will be taking on the PTO President role at Lesher for the upcoming school year. If you haven't met her yet, she's AMAZING!

Emily is already building the Nordic Fest lead team for our big fall event on September 26th, 2025. If you know you want to help out with this amazing community event, shoot her a text or an email (emilyjobirdsall@gmail.com).

She has been involved in Lesher PTO for years, and has led our Nordic Fest and Mother's Day 5k events as well. We are so excited and honored to have her take on this role for 2025-2026.

Below you'll see a celebration of the money we were able to give to teachers for amazing grants this year, an opportunity to support Lesher's OM team, and an opportunity to volunteer for our community 5k.

Go Vikings!

Each year our PTO parents work hard staffing the Snack Shack, collaborating for the Art Gala, and raising donations for Lesher. We don't bring in a ton of money, but we usually have several thousand dollars we are able to offer in teacher grants.

Thank you for your giving-- it makes a difference! This year you said "yes!" to...

  • Inclusion Calculators to help Ms. Megan Gilbert ensure that 6th, 7th, and 8th graders served by integrated services have access to Texas Instrument T1-30XS calculators.
  • Funds for Mr. Steve Holwegner to paint a giant coordinate plane on the East Side of Lesher near the basketball courts to help students in all math levels visualize graphing concepts.
  • Keyestudio Starter Kits for Ms. Dawkins' 7th and 8th Grade Innovations and Computer Classes to introduce students to coding, robotics, and electronics.
  • Funds for Ms. Anne Wind to purchase/replace headphones to help students focus in class.
  • Support to purchase protractors, rulers, markers, clipboards, calculators, classroom dice, markers, and other sundries for all of the 6th grade math department.
  • Some Advanced Math graphing calculators for 6th grade advanced math classes to Ms. Natalie Giza.
  • Some funds toward the Lesher Bike Week breakfasts for students to Mr. Ben Meyer.

While we weren't able to fully fund every grant request this year, we are happy to have the chance to impact Lesher students through supporting the needs that these amazing teachers see and care for!

Lesher's Odyssey of the Mind team has made it to the WORLD FINALS! Woohooo! They are raising funds to attend the competition. Here is their GoFundMe Link if you are able to support this amazing opportunity. Well, done Vikings!

PSD Engagement Norms PSD Engagement Norms

In an effort to foster a culture of mutual respect, effective communication, and quality customer service, PSD has created a set of norms for staff, family/guardian, and community engagement. These norms aim to set a positive tone for interactions between staff and parents and community members, whether they happen in person, over the phone, or in writing.

The norms will be posted in all PSD schools and include expectations that:

  • Calls or emails that are not emergencies will be acknowledged within three school days.
  • Appointments between the parties involved will be established as a norm for addressing concerns or discussing important matters through direct communication.
  • Appointments will take place as soon as reasonably possible. Adequate time is needed for preparation and research before an appointment.
  • Communication will focus on collaboration and understanding – respectful language and non-confrontational behavior from all parties are expected.
  • Boundaries between personal and professional life will be maintained, and sensitive matters will not be addressed in community settings.

It’s important for everyone in our schools and in our communities to feel welcome and engage in mutual respect to best serve students.

Academic Honesty Policy

Bag Policy Bag Policy

Lesher students cannot carry any bag larger than a pencil case from class to class. Please keep all bookbags, backpacks, tote bags, purses, and other bags in your locker. We do this for two reasons: 1) Safety, we do not want students concealing prohibited items in large bags; 2) Space, we do not want to overcrowd the hallways with large bags. Thank you for your understanding!
