Shark Scoop
September 2026
Principal, Ms. Jonas
Dear Naples Park Families,
The 2026–2027 school year at Naples Park Elementary is off to a wonderful start! As your Principal, I want to take a moment to thank our community for a few important things.
First, thank you for sending our Shark Students to school ready to learn. They’ve returned eager, hardworking, happy, and already modeling strong leadership. Second, congratulations to our students, staff, and families on last year’s Florida Standardized Assessments. The results reflected incredible effort, and everyone should be proud of these accomplishments. Finally, I want to express my gratitude for the continued support you show to our school and staff—it truly makes a difference working alongside such a caring community.
This year’s theme, NPE: Get Ready, Get Set, Grow…, will guide our students and staff as we set goals, celebrate growth, and enjoy the journey together. We will focus on academic excellence, character development, and fostering a safe and welcoming school environment where every child feels valued and capable of achieving great things.
I look forward to partnering with you throughout the year as we celebrate milestones, overcome challenges, and create meaningful experiences for our students. With your continued support, there is no limit to what our Shark community can achieve.
As we always say, it’s great to be a Naples Park Shark!

Mrs. Hale's Literacy Corner
Welcome Back, NPE Families!
Welcome to a brand-new school year at Naples Park Elementary! We’re ready to fuel up, and race toward a year of learning and growth!
As your Literacy Coach, I’m excited to help make literacy engaging and meaningful for every student. I’ll be working alongside our sharks to help plan engaging lessons, analyze data, find the perfect resource, or simply brainstorm an idea. I’m here to be part of the team and help keep our literacy instruction moving forward!
Fuel Up for Reading at Home!
You don’t need a lot of extra time or special materials to help your child become a stronger reader. Think of these simple habits as fuel for the journey!
- Make Reading a Daily Pit Stop – Set aside even 15 minutes a day to read a book, magazine, recipe, or anything your child enjoys.
- Talk About the Route – Ask questions like “What was your favorite part?”, “Why do you think that happened?” or “What do you think will happen next?”
- Read in the Real World – Have your child read grocery lists, menus, signs, recipes, instructions, or anything else you encounter during your daily adventures.
- Write Along the Way – Encourage your child to write a note, keep a journal, make a list, create a story, or send a message to a family member.
- Let Them Choose Their Lane! – Encourage your child to choose books and topics that interest them. When children enjoy what they’re reading, they’re more likely to keep coming back for more!
- Celebrate Every Lap! – Praise your child for trying new words, sticking with a challenging book, and sharing their thinking. Every bit of practice helps move them forward!
Keep Reading in the Fast Lane!
A little reading every day can make a BIG difference. Let’s work together to fuel a love of reading, build confident learners, and race toward success!
Here’s to a FINtastic year!
Your Literacy Coach,
Mrs. Brooke Hale
Math Minute with Mr. Masiello
Hello Families!
We’re off to a fantastic start this school year, and it’s been wonderful getting to see so many of our Shark students back on campus after a restful summer! I have seen so many of our sharks engaging in math with excitement and curiosity throughout our campus. It’s been great to see students developing their skills and growing more confident with numbers over the first weeks of the school year.
As we continue our journey, I wanted to share a few ways you can support your child with math at home. In the Monthly Shark Scoop, I will add attach a letter that will explain the current month's focus, and give you some activity ideas you could do to extend your child's learning. The activities range for students in all grade levels K-5 and support foundational skills that students need to build a deep understanding of Math.
This Month's Monthly Math Topic. Click Here
Mr. Masiello's Math Problem of the month:
K-2 Problem:
Denise had 18 pieces of fruit. She gave 11 pieces to her friends and 2 pieces to her sister. How many pieces of fruit does she have left?
3-5 Problem:
A fruit stand sells packages containing 1 peach, 1 pear, 1 apple, 1 banana, and 1 mango each. One week they sold a total of 395 pieces of fruit. How many packages did they sell?
