CLMS Family Update
October 9, 2026
From CLMS Principal, Mr. Eric Pettit
Good Afternoon, CLMS Families!
It was a great week of learning beyond the classroom at CLMS! Our 7th grade students had the opportunity to visit the Ohio Statehouse, while our 8th grade students traveled to Tri-Rivers Career Center and The Ohio State University at Marion to explore future career and educational opportunities.
These experiences gave our students a chance to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences and begin thinking more intentionally about their futures. Whether learning more about state government, career pathways, or college opportunities, these trips provided meaningful experiences that we hope will continue to spark curiosity and new goals for our students.
We were especially proud to hear the positive comments shared about our students during these trips. Their respectful behavior, positive attitudes, and the way they represented CLMS did not go unnoticed. Hearing that kind of feedback from others is always a great reminder that how we carry ourselves matters, both inside and outside of school.
As we head into another busy week, we are also looking forward to Parent/Teacher Conferences and the continued opportunities we have to partner with families. Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff and for helping us make CLMS a place where students can learn, grow, and represent our school community with pride.
As Always, Go Pirates!

CLMS Classroom Highlight- Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on Thursday, October 15. Conferences are a great opportunity for families to connect directly with teachers, discuss student progress, celebrate successes, and identify any areas where additional support may be helpful.
These conversations are especially valuable because they help strengthen the partnership between home and school. Families can gain a better understanding of classroom expectations, academic performance, work habits, and ways to support learning at home, while teachers can also learn more about each student from the family perspective.
We encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with our staff and work together to support student success. Click on the appropriate button below to sign up!
2026/27 District Calendar
Don’t forget that our first 1-Hour Early Release will take place on Thursday, October 15 for Parent/Teacher Conferences. Students will be dismissed at 1:33 p.m. The full district calendar can be accessed below.
Immunization Records Reminder
Families of students who are still missing required immunization records or an appropriate exemption form have been receiving phone calls from CLMS. We appreciate the families who have already responded and provided the necessary documentation!
These records are required by the state, and our goal is simply to make sure every student’s file is complete and up to date. If you have received a call from us, please submit the required immunization documentation or exemption form to the CLMS Office as soon as possible.
Thank you for your attention to this requirement and for helping us keep our student records current!

CLMS students have an opportunity to participate in this year’s Daughters of the American Revolution American History Essay Contest! Students who enjoy history and writing are encouraged to consider submitting an essay. We would love to see some of our Pirates take on the challenge!
LifeWise Update
LifeWise programming has begun for participating students at CLMS. Families with questions regarding enrollment, unenrollment, or participation in the LifeWise program should contact Kanda Benner, LifeWise Program Director, at kandabenner@lifewise.org.
Please note that the CLMS Office is unable to assist families with enrollment or unenrollment in the LifeWise program. All questions or requests related to participation should be directed to LifeWise.
Help Our District and Families: 2026/27 Household Income Information Survey
Parents and guardians are encouraged to complete and return the 2026–2027 Household Income Information Survey. While completing the survey is completely voluntary, the information collected may help our district qualify for important state and local programs that provide additional resources and support for our students and schools.
Completing the survey may also benefit families who could qualify for free or reduced school fees and other assistance.
Your participation matters! Please take a few minutes to complete and return the survey. Every response helps our district better serve our students and families.
Copies of this form are also available in the CLMS Office!
Mobile Dentist Information
School Smiles is partnering with our school to provide in-school dental care for students! Signing up is quick and easy! Click on the button below to register. This is the best way to enroll, as forms go directly to the School Smiles team for faster processing.
The dentist will be at CLMS on November 10th!
Supporting CLMS!
Did you know that you can support CLMS whenever you make purchases at Kroger? Log on to your Kroger account via web browser (not through the app), click on "My Account," then scroll until you see "Community Rewards." Then, you can search "Cardington Lincoln Middle School" or type the code LH042 and click "Enroll." Now, every time you shop at Kroger using your Kroger Card, they will donate a portion back to the school at no cost to you! Funds raised through the Kroger Community Rewards program will be used to purchase items that support and show appreciation for our CLMS staff.
