Back to School FinalForm information was sent to families in July. This information must be completed before the school year begins for all students. Thank you for completing them as soon as possible.

To view your student’s classroom teacher for the 26-27 school year, please log into your student’s PowerSchool account. Your child's classroom teacher will be listed under the homeroom tab. If you need help with this, please contact our office at 440-933-8131. Any classroom movement after August 7th will be due to class sizes and scheduling or administrative factors.

Open House is Monday, August 17th, 3:30-5:00. Students and families are invited to visit the classroom, meet your teacher, drop off supplies, catch up with friends, and tour the school.

PTA is providing an ice cream treat for all students and family members that evening, so while checking out the classroom and school, enjoy a frozen refreshment. PTA will also be sharing information about their great organization.

Welcome back to Westview! As we start the new year we have a couple reminders 😊 All medication must be brought into school by an adult with completed paperwork. We can not accept any medication without an over the counter form signed by a parent, or prescription medication signed by the physician & parent. Daily prescription medication, or any prescription medication that will require a tablet count, can only be dropped off when a nurse is in the building, 9:45 -3:00. Please reach out to nursing if you need to arrange another time to drop off. All over the counter medication MUST be in an unopened box/container and dosage must meet the requirements on the package for age and dose.

Kindergarten Teacher and Orientation information was emailed to families last week. If you did not receive an email with your child's teacher and orientation details, please contact Westview at 440-933-8131.

Arrival

Car Riders - Students arriving by car will use the front loop of the main drive and should arrive between 8:35-8:50. Students should stay in their car until the bell rings at 8:35 signaling students to enter the building.

Walkers - Students walking to school may enter through the main entrance or the southern doors near the bus loop between 8:35-8:50.

Bike Riders - There are two bike racks at Westview. One near the southern entrance by the bus loop and another bike rack behind the school near the playground. Students riding a bike to school enter the building through the main entrance or southern doors near the bus loop between 8:35-8:50.

Bus Riders - All bus riders will enter the building through the doors near the bus loop.

Dismissal

Car Riders - Car riders will be dismissed from the northeast doors (back of building) at 3:20. Westview utilizes a number system for students getting picked up by car. Complete the Google Form linked HERE to get a number. The number can be picked up during Open House or will be sent home with your child.

Walkers and Bike Riders - Students that live east of Westview will be dismissed from the middle doors opposite the main hallway restrooms. Students that live west of Westview will be dismissed from the bus doors near the southern loop. The only exception is all Kindergarten students walking home will exit the bus loop doors near the Kindergarten classrooms.

To help ensure students get home by the correct method, all change of transportation requests should be made by 2:00. Mrs. Jantz should be contacted via email or phone call by 2:00 if the change of transportation is being requested for that day.

Celebrating a student birthday is a fun and important event for young children. We support that excitement and enthusiasm at school without food or treats. Please take a moment to read the birthday policy so all students and parents are knowledgeable of what can be sent to school to celebrate a student birthday.

Two after school options for students to participate in at Westview are Eager Artists and Eager Engineers. This is an optional activity for students and the company uses the Westview Cafeteria for the program.

The first Westview PTA Meeting will be held on Monday, September 14th at 7:00 in the Westview Cafeteria. Come hear about the plans for PTA and their support of Westview. All families are welcome to attend!
