6th and 7th Graders Request Encore Classes for Next Year
Several weeks ago, our current 6th and 7th grade students requested Encore classes for next school year. Students can make changes to their request up until Friday, June 2. Below is information about making Encore requests. Please call our Guidance Office at 253-891-5011 if you have any questions.
State Testing - Math Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA)
Our staff is proud of our students and the growth they have made this year. We are looking forward to our students showing what they know on the state tests. We use these results to inform our teaching practices and design instructional programs for our students, as well as prepare them for high school.
This week, all of our students will take the SBA math test in their math classes.
End-of-the-Year Activities
While we still have many weeks of learning left, we have begun sharing end-of-the-school year events with our students. We will be sharing more information as we get closer to these events, but wanted to give our families a heads-up about end of the year activities.

Tuesday, June 20: Celebrate our 8th Graders
8th Grade Breakfast - sponsored by Booster parents (due to space issues, this breakfast will ONLY be for 8th grade students)
More activities are being planned for 8th graders on this day - stay tuned for more information
Wednesday, June 21
Bobcatpalooza -this is a field day at Sumner Middle School for all students. During Encore class time, many activities will be available for students; more information provided in future newsletters

Last Day of School - dismissal at 10:25am

Call or visit: Our offices are open Monday - Friday, 6:30am to 3:30pm. Visit us or call 253-891-5000. Parents/guardians may schedule conferences with teachers/counselors at a mutually agreed upon time.
