A MESSAGE FROM OUR PTO

Bulldog parents! Our Spring Carnival is fast approaching and we are finalizing all plans. We are reaching out to ask for your support. Volunteers will be needed to work some stations during the carnival and without your help we may have to eliminate some of the fun. Please be on the lookout for a sign up genius so that we can make this event ahead of time huge success for our kids! We are also still collecting donations to use for the silent auction! If you have a business or know someone that might be willing to donate please reach out. There some exciting items coming in from our community and surrounding areas, along with our baked goods and class projects.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS for APRIL 17- Spring Carnival and April 24 for the Bulldog Boogie

Greetings from the Principal

HELLO Bulldog families!

Thank you for all your support with our Read- A-Thon. Our students exceeded our 30,000 minute reading goal with our 4th graders filling in over 24,000 of those minutes!

It is hard to believe we are on the last week before Spring Break and April 1st is just a few days away. Spring Break is next week April 6-10. Students will return back to school on Monday, April 13. Now that we know when the last day of school is, we will begin planning our end of the year events. We will send out information regarding all of our end of the year events when we return from Spring Break.

The one BIG event we will be preparing for will take place we get back and that is iReady testing. Teachers will let you know when your student will be taking their last iReady test of the school year. If your student is in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade they will also be getting ready for state testing, also known as the KSA test. That will begin April 30th. Again, we will send more information home and ways to help your child prepare for these important tests when we return from Spring Break.

Here are our reminders to help us keep the momentum going as we have head into Spring Break:

1. Students should be practicing their math facts (all grade levels) for a few minutes each night. This keeps their minds sharp and helps with retaining those facts. Reflex math can help with this.

2. Students should also be reading a few minutes every night to help with fluency. Make sure to ask them some questions like who are the main characters or what was your favorite part to help with their comprehension.

3. Students can access their iReady accounts at home. We recommend doing anywhere from 20-30 minutes a week at home.

The Hardin County Board of Education met two weeks ago for their regular monthly meeting and approved last day of school for May 21st,

Have a great week everyone!
