Ever since first grade, Maddie Gass dreamed of being a “penguin scientist” - and thanks to the support she received in Aledo ISD, that dream took her all the way to Antarctica. Diagnosed with dyslexia at a young age, Maddie overcame challenges with the help of dedicated teachers and staff who believed in her potential. Now a proud graduate, she reflects on her journey and the Exceptional Experiences that prepared her for college and beyond. As we close out this series, Maddie is joined by students representing the various teams that helped contribute to Aledo High School winning the UIL Class 5A Lone Star Cup. In Aledo ISD, if you can dream it, you can do it - and Maddie is the definition of All in Aledo and Growing Greatness.

In compliance with Texas House Bill 1481 - the Cell Phone Ban Bill - Aledo ISD students must have cell phones, smart watches, personal tablets, Bluetooth devices (including wireless headphones, earbuds and AirPods), gaming systems, personal laptops or any other personal electronic device capable of telecommunication or digital communication put away, turned off or silenced and out of sight bell to bell during the school day.

The intent behind House Bill 1481 is to limit distractions in the classroom and across campus so students can stay focused on learning. As a public school district, our Board of Trustees must adopt a policy that implements the law. Click here or the button below to learn more and check out common frequently asked questions!
