We are asking for your assistance to complete the Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey and help us reach our goal of 80% completion rate. The information you provide will assist us with directing our efforts and guide educational opportunities for students. While your participation is voluntary, it is crucial to access results from the survey. We are unable to access survey results unless a minimum of 20% of parents respond.
The survey is currently open and will close on March 13th. Please know your identity and responses will be kept confidential and will not be connected with your child.

You may enter your email address if you would like to receive confirmation of your submission, but it is not required.
Then enter “[DuPage]” into the county field and “F E Peacock Middle School” to find our school.
The first period with the most parent responses will be treated to a pizza party! Please complete the Google Form below once you complete the survey. Each individual student will also receive a prize. Please complete the form linked here once you have completed the survey.
Additionally, Peacock students will be completing the survey during classroom time over the next couple of weeks. If you would not like your student to participate, please email me at jtaylor@itasca10.org.
All students will take the state assessment, the Illinois Assessment of Readiness, on April 8, 9, 10. Our staff has been preparing students for this experience! Over the course of three days, students will take two reading and three math assessments. All grade levels will follow an alternate school schedule on this day and students will take one test in the morning and one in the afternoon.
How can parents help their student prepare?
Please encourage your student to do their best! Students will receive "effort tickets" throughout the test that can be cashed in for larger incentives.
Please ensure students are getting a complete breakfast and plenty of sleep the night before. Schedule doctor’s visits or other appointments for other weeks to ensure students are present during testing.
Make sure student’s Chromebooks are fully charged each night and students have a pair of non-bluetooth headphones. All assessments will be administered through their Chromebook.
Students will follow an alternate class schedule on these days which will alter their lunch time. Please make sure your child brings a healthy snack each day.
Along with grade reports and teacher articulation, Lake Park High School will use IAR results to determine student placement for advanced coursework.
The Peacock spring musical is Frozen. Audition information is now available on the school website. Scripts are available in the music room for $10 and must be purchased to participate (due to the requirements of the license).
We appreciate your partnership with reminding students that the school expectations of acting with integrity and speaking with good purpose when cheering on Charger athletic teams at home games. As we enter this season, please be reminded that any student who is absent during the school day is not eligible to attend extra curricular activities. Students must also meet eligibility criteria per the student handbook to participate as an athlete and attend as a spectator. We are excited about the basketball season and wish our Charger teams the best!
Additionally, all Peacock students attending away athletic games at Wood Dale JH, Roselle Middle, Medinah Middle, Westfield, or Spring Wood must have an adult supervisor accompany them.
