Cup o' Coffee #14...
Wildwood community, we have lots to celebrate!
This week we recognized our Glory of MO winners, 8th graders who are recognized by staff for embodying outstanding traits and are invited to the MO Capital to be awarded. This is truly an incredible honor!
Students stretched, strengthened, and grounded themselves during a YOGA session in PE and Health classes.

Parent-Teacher Conferences for the second semester are scheduled to take place on March 12 and 13 from 3:30 - 7 p.m. Teachers will send sign-up info via ParentSquare on Monday, March 3.
The purpose of parent-teacher conferences is for parents and teachers to share information and communicate ways to ensure students are thriving.
If you feel your child is being successful and you do not wish to schedule conferences, you are more than welcome to send emails or call teachers to let them know you are working to support your son or daughter at home.
Alternative Methods of Instruction Days (AMI)
The February 19, 2025 inclement weather day marked the end of the seven traditional inclement weather days for the 2024-2025 school year. For the next five inclement weather days (should they be needed), students will participate in Alternative Methods of Instruction Days (AMI). Use of the five AMI days provides a “buffer” before having to add attendance days onto the end of the school year. We have shared specifics with our staff as to what these days will look like and we want for you to have an understanding of what they will look like for your child(ren).
6-12 Students
Attendance is determined by completion of AMI assignments.
Students will access their assignments through the Canvas learning management system on their district-issued Chromebooks for each of their classes that day.
Your child’s teachers will post assignments by 9am the morning of an AMI day with specific directions for completing and submitting assignments.
If we do have an AMI day, a reminder message of how to proceed will be sent.
Thank you for working with us to support learning on an AMI day, should we need to utilize them.
Be sure to checkout the Principal Message Video for additional info alongside our social media pages.

Dr. Jason Lievanos
Principal, Wildwood Middle School
IMPORTANT District Message:
Parents, are you planning to go on field trips or volunteer* for school events?
If so, to ensure the safety of all our students, volunteers are required to undergo a fingerprint-based background check through the Missouri Highway Patrol and the FBI.
The cost for the background check is approximately $45 and is the responsibility of the volunteer. This background check only needs to be done once while you are a volunteer in Rockwood schools and does not need to be repeated annually.
Here is the link to the MACHS fingerprint registration portal. Please use the registration code of 1838 when you register.
Please visit the Rockwood District website for additional information: rsdmo.org/get-involved/volunteers
*A volunteer refers to anyone who is chaperoning on a field trip or who may be alone with a student or students at school without the supervision of a staff member. Please visit the Rockwood District website for additional information: rsdmo.org/get-involved/volunteers.
Visitors are those who are at school to eat lunch with their child, attend a meeting, class party, school assembly or event and do NOT need to complete the fingerprinting process.

Etiquette STL at Wildwood Middle School
Etiquette St. Louis is very excited to present this wonderful experience. The primary objective is to equip students with poise and self---assurance as they face their future social obligations. This is accomplished through a well---rounded program featuring instruction in etiquette and partner dancing for social occasions. This is a program that stresses positive growth and development.
It helps prepare adolescents to face their future with more poise and confidence, emphasizing social skills, etiquette and FUN!
Academic Mindset and Behaviors Pilot
This semester, Wildwood Middle teachers are piloting a revision of our current 7th- and 8th-grade student behavior markings in report cards.
This revision introduces Academic Mindset Behaviors (AMBs), which provide a clearer picture of a student’s engagement and conduct beyond academics in the classroom and school setting. AMBs will replace the current Non-Academic Indicators (NAIs) on report cards starting in the 2025-2026 school year at all Rockwood middle schools, a result of the district's commitment to improve upon the middle school experience through the Middle School Program Edit these past few years.
Teachers will begin reporting AMBs during the third quarter in Infinite Campus. Families will receive information later this quarter on how to access their child’s AMB report. Because of this transition, teachers will not mark student behaviors at the semester grading period.

ParentSquare: Rockwood uses ParentSquare for district and school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified. By default, if parents don’t access their account, they will receive a daily digest of messages from the school and district via email each evening. Click here for more information about ParentSquare.
