Sneak Peek - TODAY
We are excited to invite families who are new to King’s Highway Elementary to a Sneak Peek Event on Monday, August 17, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM! This special opportunity is designed to help students and families become familiar with our school before the first day. Come explore the building and get a glimpse of the spaces where learning and growth happen every day. Whether you're new to the community or joining King’s Highway for the first time, we look forward to welcoming you and helping your family feel right at home. We hope to see you there!
Only select staff will be in the building. Back to School Night will be after the start of school and provide an opportunity for families to connect with teachers and staff.
PickUp Patrol
Welcome emails coming this week
Starting this week, parents will see welcome emails from PickUp Patrol.
PickUp Patrol is our secure online dismissal management system that helps schools and families communicate changes to a student's end-of-day plans. Parents and guardians can use PickUp Patrol to report absences, schedule early dismissals, and update transportation or pickup arrangements. The system streamlines communication, reduces phone calls and paper notes, and helps ensure every student gets home safely using the most up-to-date dismissal information. Families will receive login information and are encouraged to keep their student's dismissal plans current throughout the school year.
Drop Off & Pick Up
Families that choose to drive their students to school will follow the pink dots. Cars enter and exit from the west driveway and loop around the building. Once dropped off, cars can continue around the blacktop to exit. ONLY buses are permitted in front of the school between 9:00AM and 9:30 AM and 3:30pm and 4:15 PM.
In the morning, buses will roll out in groups. A KH staff member will be there to direct traffic. Please allow school buses priority, as they have other students to serve on their next run.
Car Tags: GOLD
This year, students will get a golden color car tag to help with dismissal. Drivers picking up students must display the golden car tab in the pickup line. Pro tip: Attache the tag to the passenger side sun visor to it can easily be flipped down for display.
PBIS Rewards
A new way to communicate
PBIS Rewards by Navigate360 is a platform that supports our school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program by helping recognize and celebrate positive student behavior. Students can earn points for demonstrating school expectations such as being respectful, responsible, and ready to learn.
Families can stay connected through the PBIS Rewards Family App, where they can view their child's points, see earned rewards, monitor behavior feedback, and receive important school communication. The app provides an easy way for families and school staff to work together in supporting student success and reinforcing positive behavior both at school and at home. Instructions to connect to your student's account will be out the first week of school.

Attendance Matters
If your student is absent, please submit a written excuse note within three school days of their return. Absences may be excused for reasons such as illness, medical appointments, religious observances, or family emergencies. Absences for reasons such as oversleeping, missing the bus, or family trips that have not been pre-approved may be considered unexcused. Please review the district attendance policy using the link provided for complete details.
Volunteer with CASD
We welcome family and community members into our schools and would love to have you volunteer! Whether you are helping in a classroom, working with students, supporting school events, or chaperoning field trips, volunteers play an important role in enriching the educational experience for our students.
To ensure a safe and supportive environment for everyone, all volunteers must complete the required clearances before volunteering. CASD requires a Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, proof of a recent Tuberculosis (TB) test, and, for individuals who have lived in Pennsylvania for less than 10 years, a Federal Criminal History Report (FBI fingerprint clearance). Once completed, copies of these documents should be submitted to your child's school, and the clearances remain valid for five years (60 months). An annual volunteer waiver is also required each school year. For complete information and links to all required forms, please visit the CASD Parent Volunteer Information page
