LOWELL HIGH SCHOOL Back-to-School Update for Students & Families
August 27, 2026
Dear Lowell High School Students and Families,
We are just days away from welcoming our students back to Lowell High School! As we get closer to the start of the 2026–2027 school year, we want to share a few important updates to help students and families prepare for a smooth opening.
September 2nd and 3rd
We are excited to see everyone on Wednesday, Sept. 2nd and look forward to a great year at LHS!
Our days of school will focus on helping students start the year successfully. Our school day begins promptly at 7:55 a.m. Students should plan to arrive early enough to be in their classroom, settled, and ready to learn when the bell rings at 7:55 a.m.
These first days are designed to help students reconnect with LHS, meet their teachers, understand expectations and routines, navigate their schedules, and get ready for the year ahead.

💻 Student Schedules Will Be Available in Aspen On Friday, August 28th
Student schedules are available in Aspen for students and families to view. Please take some time before the first day to review your schedule.
As we open school, our Guidance Department will be prioritizing:
- New students
- Students who have a hole or missing class in their schedule
- Students with other scheduling issues that prevent them from having a complete schedule
At this time, we are not making elective changes. With more than 3,000 students at LHS, our priority is making sure every student has a complete schedule and is ready to begin classes.
If you need assistance with your schedule, you may email your guidance counselor directly. Our counselors will respond as soon as possible. We appreciate everyone's patience as our team works through requests and supports students who have the most immediate scheduling needs.
🚗 Plan Ahead for Traffic & Arrival
Please expect significant traffic around Lowell High School throughout the school year — and especially during the first several days of school.
Our school day begins at 7:55 a.m., which means students should be inside the building, in their classroom, and ready to learn at 7:55 — not arriving at the school at 7:55.
Whether you are driving, being dropped off, walking, or taking the bus, please build extra time into your morning routine.
Our recommendation: Leave earlier than you think you need to during the first week.
Starting the day on time helps students begin the year with strong habits and ensures they do not miss important instruction or information.
Stay Informed: Check out the LHS Website
Take a few minutes to explore the Lowell High School website. It is a great place to find information throughout the year, including calendars, bell schedules, Aspen resources, transportation information, student supports, school news, and important updates.

🍎 Breakfast Begins at 7:15 a.m.
Breakfast will be available beginning at 7:15 a.m. each morning.
Students who would like breakfast should arrive early enough to eat and still be in class and ready to begin the day at 7:55 a.m.
🪪 Student IDs
Students will receive their LHS student IDs during the opening days of school.
Student IDs are an important part of our school safety and security procedures. Students should get into the habit of bringing and wearing their LHS ID every school day.
