Dear Tiger Families,

As we approach the final month of the school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and support. It’s been a year full of growth, achievement, and joyful memories—and we’re not finished yet!

May is packed with exciting events that celebrate all we’ve accomplished and give our students a fun, meaningful finish to the school year. We invite you to join us for many of the May events to celebrate all of the amazing growth and accomplishments our students have made this year!

Let’s finish the year strong by encouraging our students to give their best effort, show kindness, and savor every moment of the last few weeks. Thank you for being a vital part of our school community—we couldn’t do it without you!

Much Thanks,

Dr. Kristian Edgeman

Don't let students get bored this summer! Summer is a great time to review those math facts. There are several free websites that will allow your child to practice math facts as well as keep them reviewing other math skills. Below are some different websites that offer free practice. Summer Reading Adventure"

When school is out and skies are blue,
There’s still one thing that you can do—
Grab a book and take a ride,
To lands of wonder, far and wide!

You don’t need tickets, cars, or planes,
To travel jungles, towns, and trains.
Just open pages, start to read,
And watch your mind grow like a seed!

You’ll meet brave heroes, dragons too,
Solve some mysteries (maybe two!).
Books can take you to the stars,
Or to a castle full of jars!

So every day, when you’ve got time,
Read a story, poem, or rhyme.
For every book you choose to start,
Will build your brain and grow your heart.

For students that may be reading below grade level, routinely practicing with decodables has shown great improvement with reading skills. Here is a great resource.

Hope everyone has a restful and safe summer.

2025 RES Read-A-Thon

WAY TO READ RES!

Ringgold Elementary School extends a heartfelt THANK YOU to our school community! We're incredibly proud of our readers and grateful for your support, which made our fundraiser a success. Our students had a wonderful time reading. We can't wait to host another Read-A-Thon next year!

The top ten readers in our school earned a free paperback book, a water bottle, and a goody bag. The top ten readers in each grade were rewarded with a fun pencil, a bookmark, and a free ice cream at lunch. The top reader in each homeroom earned 20 minutes with a friend in the reading room. Students will receive these rewards during media center class time. Georgia Edwards read the most with 3435 minutes and Zoe Horn was second with 3132! Each won a $50.00 gift certificate to McKays!

This year our school raised $6,772.00 dollars and will get to keep, $5,079.00 of that. We did not raise more than last year BUT WE READ MORE THAN LAST YEAR. 95,662 minutes! We had 216 total participants.
