What can you do in 30 seconds?
I hope you had a great weekend and you were able to enjoy some great weather and our activities! I am so proud of all of our students but shout out to those who are putting in the extra time with participating in our activities or those that are showing up to those activities! It is great to see the hard work and dedication showing up on the competition field/court/course and seeing success. I also am proud of those who are showing up and cheering on their fellow students and representing SRC! It is great to see!
The Power of 30 Seconds
A 30-second interaction is a moment of focused, present-minded engagement. It's long enough to convey genuine intent but short enough to be easily integrated into a busy day. Think of it as a micro-intervention. How can you do this?
Offer a sincere compliment on their work/performance/day.
Ask how their day is going and listen to the answer.
Share a quick word of encouragement before a big day.
These small acts build trust, create a sense of belonging, and foster a more positive environment. When one person starts doing this, it often inspires others to do the same, creating a feedback loop of positivity. Let's keep the positivity flowing here at SRC!

✨Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)✨
Congratulations goes to our own Becky Schueth who has been named a State Finalist for this award!
This is the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teaching. Awards are given to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teachers who have both deep content knowledge of the subjects they teach and the ability to motivate and enable students to be successful in those areas.
Mrs. Schueth is currently teaching high school mathematics here at SRC. This is her 11th year at S-RC and I teach Geometry, Technical Math, College Algebra, PreCalculus and Calculus. Becky has 20 years of experience in teaching and she began her career at Columbus High School. Mrs. Schueth Bachelor’s (2005) and Master’s (2009) degrees are from Wayne State College. She enjoys sharing her excitement for math with her students each day!
When you see her, please make sure you congratulate her on this incredible achievement! We are all proud and rooting for you!

Message for the Week:
Message from Mr. Tejkl
Be a good person...
Good morning!
I hope your weekend is going well! What a great time to be a HUSKY and many things to be proud of! We can continue to improve and continue to be the best versions of ourselves so let's not lose sight of that as we look to be better each day!
The most profound legacies are not about what you did, but who you were to others. A person who is remembered for their integrity, empathy, and respect leaves an impact on those around them. This also ties in nicely with our Mission Statement of SRC. Think about the teachers who inspired you, the mentors who guided you, or your friends/peers who stood by you during a difficult time. Their greatest lesson wasn't found in a textbook; it was in the way they treated you. By committing to being a good person and treating people well, you are building a legacy of positive connection. You are creating a ripple effect of compassion that will continue to influence others long after your name is no longer at the top of a list. This is a legacy of character, and it is the most meaningful one you can leave behind.
When we think of a "legacy," we often picture grand achievements. But a lasting legacy isn't built in boardrooms or with academic accolades. It's built in the small, daily interactions that shape the lives of others. Your grades will eventually be forgotten, and the trophies you won will collect dust, but the memory of how you made someone feel—that is a story that gets passed down. It is the kindness you showed a struggling classmate, the encouragement you gave a down colleague, or the patience you offered to a child who needed it most. This is the legacy that truly endures.
Have a great rest of your Sunday!
Quote of the week to reflect on:
"Success to meis being a good person, treating people well."
David Lachapelle
Sincerely,
Tucker Tejkl
