Morning Arrival
Now that we are fully into the coldest months of the school year, our school drop off has increased in popularity. If you drive to school and drop off your student(s):
- Morning Arrival: 8:05-8:15am
- Pull as far forward as possible to allow multiple cars in the circular drive (to Mrs Suppes).
- Parents, please do not exit your vehicle as this slows down the arrival process. If you do want to assist your child in exiting the vehicle, please pull into one of the marked parking spaces.
- Please make sure students are ready to exit the vehicle quickly upon arrival.
- Make sure your child exits the vehicle on the school side as opposed to the driveway side of the car. It is much safer to exit onto the sidewalk!
- Once your child exits the vehicle, you are free to go. Please do so quickly as we will keep the line moving. **We have many car drop offs, and will do our best to get through cars quickly!**
School starts at 8:15am each day. Students are marked tardy if they are not in the building by 8:15am.

Sip 'N Chat
This year, in conjunction with the District 95 Board of Education and administration, the Superintendent has started a new initiative called “Sip ‘n Chat” where up to two Board members, one or more administrators, and Dr. Gallt will be available at various locations in the community for people to drop in for conversations relating to our school district. Key administrators will also be on hand as subject matter experts in particular areas, but discussions are not restricted to only that topic. The hope is to have room for up to 20-25 people at one time, though it is also fine to come and go – please consider stopping by for a cup of coffee and a chat!

December Student of the Month
Each month, District 95 asks every building to select a student who represents our District Values of collaboration, continuous improvement, equity, high expectations, integrity, perseverance, and respect. For the month of December, Spencer Loomis chose Second Grader, Skanda K.
The Second Grade Team is excited to nominate Skanda for Student of the Month. Skanda exemplifies District 95's core values of Collaboration, Respect, and Academic Perseverance. Skanda always treats peers and adults with kindness and respect. She goes above and beyond to support classmates in their own learning, offering help with challenging tasks and celebrating their successes - big or small. Her positive attitude and eagerness to learn makes her the kind of student we can all look up to.
PTO News
*PTO STRESS-FREE FUNDRAISER: New Format, Same Big Impact*
As we have in years past, we acknowledge that time is often the thing most families never seem to have enough of. That is why our primary source of fundraising comes from our No Stress Fundraiser, which allows families to directly contribute and support our PTO without the additional time demands.
New this year, we have extended our donation window to the end of February. This flexible timeline means you can contribute when it's right for your family - no pressure, no deadlines.
Your donations allow the PTO to support students and staff directly through our events, educational programs/support and classroom resources provided throughout the year.
We can’t thank you enough for supporting our school and making a difference in our community.
*Note that donations are tax deductible.

Yearbook Cover Art Contest
🚩Yearbook Cover Art Contest Extended 🚩
Need more time to submit your child's artwork for the Yearbook Cover Art Contest? Have no fear! The deadline has been extended to Friday, Jan. 31!
This year, we will have a comic book theme featuring our very own student superheroes! If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be? What would your outfit look like? What would your name be? These are all questions to be answered via artwork for this year’s cover art contest. To enter the contest, students should submit a colorful drawing of themselves as a superhero with the words “Spencer Loomis” somewhere in their artwork. Please try to have at least 3 inches of space around your character, as images may need to be cropped. One winner from each grade will be selected. Winners will receive a $15 gift card to Learning Express, and all other entries will be featured inside the yearbook. We know they will all be “super!”
When finished, students can turn their submissions in to the front desk or parents can scan and email them to spencerloomisyearbook@gmail.com.
