Happy Last Day of School!

Hello Panther Parents,

As we wrap up another incredible school year at New Prospect Elementary, I want to take a moment to celebrate the amazing growth our students have made—both academically and socially. It’s been a joy to watch them learn, laugh, and lead throughout the year.

From the excitement of Field Day and the fun of our school carnival, to the proud moments of Kindergarten and 5th Grade Graduations, we’ve made memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.

Wishing you all a safe, restful, and joyful summer!

We will miss you!!!

It's always bittersweet when anyone leaves our staff. We will miss them so much, but know that everyone that is leaving is doing it for a great reason and all have new adventures in front of them.

Kelly Ison, Cari MacDonell and Stacie Schagren are celebrating their retirement from Fulton County Schools and New Prospect!

Diana Zarzour, Alex Riis-Poulsen, Ashley Brown and Bryce Garman are also leaving for new life adventures! We are really going to miss them!

Unfortunately, Diana. Zarzour will be leaving our New Prospect community to be closer to her family in North Decatur. We know she is a great resource for many of you, but her email will be deactivated this Saturday if you try to reach out over the summer. She is extremely sad to leave and has loved serving the students and families of New Prospect. Please contact Amy Lemons if there is something you need.

Georgia Milestone Scores (3rd-5th Grade)

Georgia Milestones Individual Student Scores will begin to populate in the statewide SLDS portal via Infinite Campus as they come available. Please note, scores are still coming in.

In order to access your student’s Georgia Milestones scores, follow the steps below:

  • Access your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account
  • Click “More"
  • Click “SLDS Portal”
  • Click “Performance”

Click HERE for a step-by-step visual guide to access scores.

The Georgia Milestones assessment has four performance levels. The levels include Beginning (level 1), Developing (level 2), Proficient (level 3), and Distinguished (level 4). One thing to note, the performance descriptors detail students’ knowledge and skills in relationship to the progression of Georgia Standards of Excellence content. A student who scores a level 3 is considered proficient at the grade level standards and a student who scores a level 4 is considered to have advanced proficiency in the grade level standards. The performance levels will also describe whether students need support in the next grade level; these are typically students who score a level 1 or level 2. The English Language Arts assessment includes the measure of a reading indicator. The measure is a student’s Lexile level. If a student scores below the minimum Lexile range for the grade level, he/she is not considered reading on/at grade level.

Each content area that your student tested in will have a detailed score report once all scores have been reported which can be viewed through the SLDS system. The report is used to help educators and parents make decisions about the next step in the student’s individual learning cycle.

Below, you will find some additional information to help you understand the results:

  • Parent Guide to Interpreting the Georgia Milestones Student Report
  • Georgia Milestones Parent Q & A – English

Thank you for taking the time to view your student’s assessment results.
