- Last day of School June 17 - 1 hour early release at 2:25pm
Hi,
We are entering our last few days of school and the start of summer— you and your children deserve a restful, joyful break. It has been an honor to work with your family this year; thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. The last day of school is June 17 with dismissal at 2:25 (I hour early release).
Save the date: School resumes on September 2nd for grades 1-5 and new incoming K will have parent meetings Sept. 2-4 and Kindergarteners start September 8th (please watch for the district calendar and a welcome packet in late summer).
Class assignments will be sent to you in late August. We will have a short meet and greet prior to the school year start on September 1st at 3-4pm for you to see your new classroom and meet your new teacher!
We had a fantastic year full of learning, laughter, and memorable experiences. I am so proud of all the hard work our students did — thank you for being an essential part of our community!
Highlights:
Cocoa Bucks and dragon dollars program — celebrating positive choices and kindness.
Field Day — sunshine, games, and great teamwork.
STEM Day — students explored hands-on science and engineering.
The Jungle Book school play — wonderful performances and community attendance.
5th Grade Camp at IslandWood — meaningful outdoor learning and friendships.
Grade-level activities: 2nd grade swim classes, class potlucks, movie nights, class celebrations
Dragon Hunt and our Walk & Roll-a-thon fundraisers that are also fun!
These moments reflect our strong school-family partnership. We are grateful for every volunteer, chaperone, and family member who helped make these events successful.
Additional Information:
Summer Support: If your family needs resources over the summer (meals, enrichment programs, or community services), please contact Mrs. Schneider for local options and referrals.
Lost & Found: Unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the last week of school. If your child is missing something, please check the lost & found before then.
Volunteer Opportunities Next Year: We welcome family involvement. If you’d like to volunteer in the fall, complete the volunteer interest form online so we can match your interests with opportunities and make sure you’ve been cleared before things start popping up at the start of the year.
Communication: Watch for a welcome email before school starts at the end of August with class assignments, teacher introductions, and first-week schedules. There will be a meet the teacher event as well and more information on that to come!
We are grateful for your ongoing support in helping our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Your partnership makes our school a stronger, kinder place for every child.
Thank you again — we look forward to seeing you next year!
Warmly,
Liz McFarland (she/her)
Principal
