Dear Families,

It’s hard to believe we’re already in March! I hope your students had a blast at Friday’s Beast performance — they brought so much energy, music, and excitement to our school family. It was a fun way to wrap up the week together!

Looking ahead, we have another great week planned. On Monday afternoon, students in grades 2–5 will enjoy a special performance in the gym featuring Yasu Ishida’s magic storytelling and origami — it’s always an engaging and creative experience for our students. We’re also celebrating our annual Read Across America Week with lots of fun activities focused on building a love of reading. Please remember there is no school for students on Tuesday so adults can do their civic duty and vote — North Ridge Elementary will serve as a voting site this year. We’ll end the week in the coziest way possible with pajama day and extra time for reading together! 📚

Wishing you well,

Travis Shillings and NRES Staff

Letterland Parade: Families are invited to join us for our Letterland Parade! The parade will be on Thursday, March 5th and begin at 9:45 AM. Students will take two laps around the track. All visitors must sign in on the sign-in sheet in the front office upon arrival. In the event of rain, the parade will be held inside the building; however, due to space limitations, families will not be able to attend if we move indoors. We hope you can join us for this fun celebration of learning!

From our School Nurse From our School Nurse

A message from our school nurse : Families, it is that time of the year that we see an increase in flu, colds and illnesses. We want every student here as much as possible, but also want to make sure you are aware of how to keep you and your family healthy. If your student has a temperature of 100.4 or above, please keep them home until they are fever free for 24 hours with NO fever reducing medication in their system (do not give them tylenol/acetaminophen or motrin/ibuprofen). For diarrhea and vomiting, please keep them home the day they vomit and until the diarrhea or vomiting has not continued; then they can return to school the next day.

Please remind your student to:

  • cough or sneeze in their arm/shirt instead of their hands.

  • Use hand sanitizer or handwashing before and after eating and more often as needed

  • Keep your hands away from your face

  • Do not share food or drinks with anyone
