Panther Weekly

August 4 - August 10
Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!
Let's Start the Year Safe - Drop off and Pick up at Parkview
Please note that students will not be able to enter the building until 6:30am each day. If a student is dropped off at school prior to 6:30am, they will be unable to enter the building until 6:30am when the doors are unlocked and opened.
- Morning carpool is on both sides of campus. Afternoon carpool is only on the A building side of campus next to Camp Creek. Any parents picking up on the stadium side of campus will be asked to turn around. Please do not pull into student or teacher lots for student drop off or pick up.
- Students, please only park in your assigned spot, if you do not have a parking pass, please do not park on the Parkview campus.
- Please follow the instructions of all parking attendants and staff as they direct you through campus. We all are working to make this time run as smooth as possible.
- Please stop at all crosswalks and stop signs on campus. The county has installed speed bumps to help slow vehicles in danger areas.
- Please do not make a left when you are leaving campus during drop off or pick up. This causes traffic to back up both at the school and on Cole Dr. and it creates dangerous situations for buses and other vehicles traveling on Cole Dr.
Where Can I See My Bus Information
Bus stops are determined by the address that is on file at the school. You will only be able to ride the bus that is assigned to you at your address.
- On the Parent Portal select the student you want to view
- Click on "ParentVUE"
- Click on "Student information"
- There you will find the address of the assigned bus stop, the bus number for the AM and PM routes, and the estimated time of pickup and arrival
- On the StudentVUE/ParentVUE app select the student who's information you would like to see
- Click on "Student information"
- There you will find the address of the assigned bus stop, the bus number for the AM and PM routes, and the estimated time of pickup and arrival
New Student Check-Out Location
Parents and Guardians will now be using our vestibule to complete the checkout process. Please be patient with us during this transition period.
Remember that you can send a note with students in the morning with the students name, ID # and time they are checking out. Our Attendance Office will then contact you to confirm the checkout time and the student will be able to be released from class at that time. They can then sign themselves out. You will not have to enter the building.
New Absence Note Procedure
If your student has been absent, you no longer will turn in a note to the attendance office. All notes must be uploaded in ParentVUE within 5 days of the absence or it will remain unexcused.
Scholastic Images Will Be On Campus August 18th
Visit Scholastic Images in the cafeteria if you are interested in purchasing a letter jacket, class ring, or need to pay senior dues. They will be on campus every month to answer questions and take orders during all lunches.
2025-2026 Parent/Student To Do List
- Back to School orientation forms are now available in ParentSquare. Please click here to complete your student's orientation form before school starts.
- Update your student's personal and emergency contact information online in the parent portal under my account.
- If updating your student's address, you will need to submit an updated lease or mortgage statement along with a bill in ParentVUE or if you have a residency affidavit, please call the registrar for an appointment. For accepted documents please see the Required Documents section.
- GCPS Transportation uses the address that is on file with the county to assign busses, so we must have your correct address on file. Bus Transportation information, including student bus numbers and estimated pick up and drop off times can be found in the ParentVUE or StudentVUE App under Student Info.
- If you have moved and no longer live in the Parkview attendance district, please contact the school so your student can be withdrawn and enrolled in their new school.
- If your student has specific medical needs, visit the clinic page on our website and review the medication policy. Email our clinic specialist Ms. Sonia Garcia, Sonia.Garcia@gcpsk12.org for any questions.
- If your student is planning on eating school lunch, please make sure you have added funds to their School Nutrition Account through MyPayments Plus or please fill out the Free & Reduced lunch application.
- If your student is planning on trying out for or joining any of our athletic teams please make sure to have all of the required documents uploaded and signed on Rank One. GCPS uses Rank One for physical forms and eligibility requirements. Click here for instructions on getting started with Rank One. Athletes need to have a current physical to try out/participate in any sport.
