It's a Great Week to be a Cavalier!😉

Happy Sunday Cavalier Families!

As we enter mid-April, our students are truly being tested—both literally and figuratively! This week, our 8th graders are showing their perseverance and resiliency as they take on STAAR Science and Social Studies. It is time to show the world how hard they have worked so far this year.

With just six weeks left in the school year, now is the time for students to stay focused, push through challenges, and finish strong. Every assignment, quiz, and project counts toward their final grades. Encourage your child to keep giving their best effort—this is the time to show what they’re made of!

We know middle school can be tough, but your support at home makes a huge difference. Together, let’s help our students finish this year with pride and purpose. Let’s keep making it count!

If you have any questions or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are looking forward to a Cav-tastic week with your students!

We still have a number of students that are not being picked up after school in a timely manner. The expectation is that students will be picked up when school ends at 3:30PM unless they are involved in an after-school activity. If they are in an after-school activity, they should be with a teacher or sponsor until they are picked up by a parent/guardian. If your student cannot be picked up at 3:30PM, we do have offer the Boys & Girls Club every day until 6:00PM. It is a free service and all you need to do is fill out the application online (see link below). Please ensure that your student is picked up immediately when school ends or that they have a membership to the Boys & Girls Club.

Counselors' Corner Counselors' Corner

April is Stress Awareness Month, a time to recognize the impact that stress has on our lives and take steps to manage it effectively. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the demands of school, family, and other responsibilities. However, ignoring stress can lead to a variety of mental and physical health problems.

Purpose

  • Raise Awareness – Educate people about the impact of stress on mental and physical health.

  • Promote Healthy Coping Strategies – Encourage individuals to adopt effective stress management techniques.

  • Reduce Stigma – Help people feel more comfortable discussing stress and seeking support.

  • Encourage Workplace & Community Support – Highlight the importance of stress-reducing initiatives in workplaces and communities.

  • Empower Individuals – Provide tools and resources to help people take control of their stress levels.

Ways to Reduce Stress

  • Practice Mindfulness & Meditation – Engage in deep breathing exercises, meditation, or yoga to stay present and relaxed.

  • Exercise Regularly – Physical activity helps release endorphins, reducing stress and improving mood.

  • Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle – Eat a balanced diet, stay hydrated, and get enough sleep to support overall well-being.

  • Set Boundaries & Manage Time – Avoid overcommitting and prioritize self-care to reduce overwhelming situations.

  • Connect with Others – Talk to friends, family, or professionals for emotional support and stress relief.

Tuesday: Don’t be discouraged. It’s often the last key in the bunch that opens the lock.

Wednesday: Don’t watch the clock; do what it does. Keep going.

Thursday: Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th.

Friday: NO SCHOOL!
