Minshew Families -

Our Minshew Colts shined this week! We had our campus Spelling Bee. Congratulations to our Spelling Bee Champion, Ifu Biose-Azuka and our 2nd place winner, Sailesh Kankanala! On Thursday, our 3rd graders and the Minshew Choir did an awesome job with their winter performance! My daughter had a band concert, and I was disappointed to miss such a special performance. Mrs. Herrera praised the students for their hard work and highlighted the incredible support from the many families who attended.

Our community continues to support our wonderful campus. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the cookie donations for our staff holiday party and cookie exchange. The staff felt appreciated and loved as they “oohed and aahed” over the selection of delicious treats! Our staff continued to be treated on Wednesday with lunch from Babe’s. Special thanks to Preston Trail Community Church for your generous donation.

Friday was a highlight when the Cockrill Fine Arts program came to perform for our 5th graders. I found myself beaming seeing former students shine while performing. I also looked at our 5th graders watching these older students and reflected that in just a few years, many of them will return to Minshew to continue the tradition of the Cockrill Fine Arts tour. What an awesome tradition!

This week ahead will be fun with dress up days and winter parties! While this time of the year is busy, I hope we will all slow down to enjoy these special times with our kiddos! It goes fast!

Go Colts!
