Attention Bus Riders!

We are so excited that Marsha is able to rejoin us on October 10th after being out for the first seven weeks of school. Shout out to all of our drivers for being flexible and making it work! The district was so thankful for Laura Hanes (pictured right) for stepping up and being a part time sub so that we would be able to transport our high school and elementary routes without missing a beat!

Starting October 10th we will run the routes as follows

Route A is bus 83 (Miss Alana’s bus) -- Running up to 25 minutes later than usual

Route B is bus 82 (Miss Marsha’s bus) - Times staying the same

Route C is bus 81 (Mr. Brian’s bus) This is the bus we use for our HS route and then also use it for our in town and Colony Estates students

Two big changes:

Bus 83 will run a little later than usual (up to 25 minutes later)

Bus 81 will pick up after the HS route and include in town and Colony Estates .

We will be sending home a letter outlining these changes with those students who ride the bus.

Teacher Ease - Implementing our Student Information System

We have been working to fully launch our new student information system. We thank you in advance for the patience you have had as we have managed the speed bumps and obstacles. You should be able to access the parent portal to view grades, and get other student information. We also just established a way for our middle school students to access their grades to encourage them to keep track of their assignments and grades. We are working to create the option to make payments.

If you are still struggling to log on or access needed information please reach out to the office and we will work to address the issue. To access our student information system go to teacherease.com. There is also an app that you can download to your phone.

Communication

In our strategic plan we state:

The East Lynne 40 School District will establish a collaborative culture with the goal to provide timely, clear and effective communication that creates meaningful engagement opportunities for all stakeholders.

We are working to strengthen the communication with our learning community. We launched our new website https://www.eastlynne40school.org/ last Spring as well as our school app that can be found in your App Store (search East Lynne 40). The app feature brings lots of information to your fingertips --including our breakfast and lunch menus. We are working to fully implement these new communication tools and use them as a way to strengthen our communication. Next week, we will be adding a messaging feature as well to replace our One Call Now messaging system.

For our bus riders we are working to keep our Buswhere app up to date so that you are able to track the bus each morning and evening. We recently updated the trackers to increase our accuracy in where the bus is located.

The district also uses our monthly newsletter, Cougar Courier, to communicate news and celebrations within our learning community. Our social media presence can be found on facebook, instagram, & twitter. Give us a follow!

Our teachers incorporate the use of classroom forms of communication such as Remind, emails, regular newsletters, and class social media pages to share reminders, celebrations and current news. Our middle school classrooms also use student planners as a way to encourage students to begin to communicate what they are learning each day. Our club sponsors also use digital messaging to share updates, meeting information, fundraising opportunities and other important announcements. Make sure you contact club sponsors if you are not getting their announcements.

Ultimately, we want the members of our learning community to feel connected and heard. We encourage you to share your thoughts and concerns as they arise during the school year. We encourage you to reach out when you have a concern so we can address the things that matter to you!

Soundproofing Project

We recently completed a project in our Fine Arts Building with adding additional sound proofing to help with the overall acoustics of the building. We had done this to the music room last year and saw great benefits. The process to sound proof included adding additional insulation in the ceiling and sound reduction panels on the walls. Adding this to the hallways and each of the classrooms has helped reduce noise and makes the building more functional.
