Livermore High School | Bi-Weekly Newsletter

Dear Livermore High School Families,

Happy Halloween, Cowboys!
As we wrap up October, we’re celebrating an incredible month of student success, cultural events, and community spirit. From FFA and Athletics to the arts and student clubs, our campus has been buzzing with energy and achievement. Thank you to our staff, students, and families for keeping the Cowboy spirit strong!

FFA Excels at Sectional Speaking Contest

Our Livermore High School FFA program had an outstanding showing at the recent Opening and Closing Sectional Speaking Contest!
This event highlights leadership, teamwork, and public speaking skills, bringing together FFA chapters from across the region to demonstrate the official FFA Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

LHS was proudly represented by 36 students across multiple teams. Both our Officer Team and Intermediate Team earned first place, showcasing exceptional preparation, confidence, and professionalism. Our Freshman Team also performed extremely well, earning an impressive fourth-place finish among strong competition.

This success reflects the strength of our Agriculture Education and FFA programs, which continue to develop students’ leadership, communication, and collaboration skills—key components of career readiness. Congratulations to all our competitors and to our dedicated Agriculture teachers and FFA advisors for their guidance and support!

School Garden Transformation

Our Labor Committee—Ward Piazza, Blake Roth, Gage Santucci, and Jayden Butikofer—has completely transformed our school garden. They expanded the seedbeds, doubling the planting space, weeded, repaired greenhouse fans, and installed new irrigation lines.

Partnering with Fertile Groundworks, the committee’s hard work has made an incredible difference and will benefit our campus and community for years to come.

Athletics Highlights

Our Athletics programs are thriving this season!

Staff Appreciation

A big thank-you to our PTSA for the new refrigerator in the main building staff lounge—it has made a world of difference!

SASA Diwali Celebration

Our South Asian Students Association (SASA), in partnership with the LHS Wellness Center, hosted a vibrant Diwali celebration on October 21.
Students enjoyed a “make your own rangoli” activity at lunch, guided by club officers, and explored the beauty of traditional Indian art using colored powders, sand, rice flour, and flower petals.

The celebration also featured traditional attire, cultural music, and a Diwali trivia contest during Club Rush on October 22. It was a joyful and educational event that brought our community together in cultural appreciation.

Día de los Muertos

In recognition of Día de los Muertos, the Culture Keepers, Wellness Center, LHS students, Ms. Guerrero, and Mrs. Iglesias have teamed up to honor this meaningful tradition.

Students will help build our LHS Ofrenda inside the Student Union on October 31, which will be available for viewing November 3–14. On Monday, November 3, the Wellness Center will host a Día de los Muertos gathering where students can dedicate a paper leaf to a loved one and add it to our Memory Tree.

Sweet snacks and cultural activities will be available, and an LHS student will share the history and traditions of this important celebration. All are welcome to join!

Special Education Department Newsletter

The Special Education Department has released the first edition of its new newsletter! While still a work in progress, it’s a great resource for updates and communication. It will also be posted on the department’s webpage.

The next issue will be available in January or February. Thank you to our Special Education team for your continued efforts and dedication.

Closing Message

Thank you, Cowboys, for another incredible month of learning, collaboration, and community. We’re proud of all that you’ve accomplished so far this semester and look forward to the exciting events ahead.

Have a safe and happy Halloween, and as always—Go Cowboys!
