We were glad to have students back!

What a great first week! Please feel free to reach out to your child's teachers with any questions or comments you may have. Your child's teacher will know your child's academic levels better then anyone. If your child is struggling with any social or emotional issues, please feel free to contact your child's counselor.

Schedule Changes End on 9/9 at 3:00 pm! Schedule Changes End on 9/9 at 3:00 pm!

Please have your child make an appointment to see his/her counselor if they are looking to change their schedule. Remember, schedule changes need to be for legitimate, academic reasons.

Grading at the High School Grading at the High School

From the Methacton School District Curriculum Office

Methacton’s grading and assessment practices are intended to provide families with an accurate picture of a student’s learning and progress toward curriculum standards. Grades reflect both summative assignments, such as tests, projects, writing, and lab reports, which account for 80% of the grade, and formative assignments, such as classwork and homework, which account for the remaining 20%. Teachers update their gradebooks regularly so families can monitor progress and students can receive timely support when needed. Families should refer to course-specific information provided by their student’s teacher for additional details about assignments, expectations, and grading practices.

Important Attendance Procedures Important Attendance Procedures

Use the Online Reporting System

Parents and guardians must report absences using one of two approved methods.

Use the attendance reporting feature in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. This online tool notifies the school and fulfills the written note requirement.

You may also call your child’s school to report the absence. Phone reports require a written parent or guardian note to be submitted within three days of the absence.

If leaving a message, please provide:

Your child’s full name
Your name
The reason for the absence
Your contact number

Please know that emails will not be accepted for attendance reporting.

BE RESPECTFULL, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE SAFE! BE RESPECTFULL, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE SAFE!

Our Core Values

Throughout the year, we will encourage students to stay focused on making choices that are respectful, responsible, and safe. All behaviors/misbehaviors can fall within one or more of these values. As students continue to grow into young adults, the understanding of how their choices may impact others is important.

Being On Time Matters

As we emphasize three core school values (respect, responsibility, and safety), we will be encouraging students to be on time to school and class. Students will receive an after-school detention after being late three times (unexcused).

Student Drop Off Is In The East Wing!

If you arrive before 7:15, please do not wait in line. Drop your child off and we will open the doors at 7:15 am. Please follow the white arrows and pull all the way up to the LGI entrance which is right by the thick white line in the above picture. Students will be allowed to exit the car anywhere along the sidewalk the entire length of the car line. Please have your child sit on the right side of the car. During morning drop off between 7:15 and 7:35 cars will NOT be permitted to pass on the left. Students who arrive after 7:35 will be sent to the office for a late pass. Please be respectful to the teachers volunteers who are outside ensuring the safety of your children.

Student pick up is in the same location. Students are dismissed at 2:20. If you arrive early, please pull all the way up so we can fit as many cars as possible.
