Mr. Macken's Message

Centerville Families,

It is not too late to sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences! We are aiming for 100 percent participation because your partnership makes such a difference for your child. Conferences are October 6th and 12th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. If you have not registered yet, please take a moment to do so before the window closes on Sunday, October 4th at 9:00 PM.

Tonight is the Homecoming football game at 7:00 PM! Come cheer on the Cougars and enjoy a great community night. Please remember that elementary students need to sit with their parents or guardians and no balls are allowed in the stadium.

We hope to see you both at conferences next week and at the game tonight.

Go Cougars!

Mike Macken

Question 2: What is proposed in our schools?

Question 2 would address prioritized safety, infrastructure, learning-space and community-use needs— not every possible project. How is your student’s school impacted by the referendum? Learn more about proposed school improvements.

Check out this week’s videos:

  • Maintaining Quality Schools
Maintaining strong schools requires stable operating funding. See why the proposed operating levy would help Centennial maintain current staffing, programs, student supports and opportunities as operating costs continue to rise.
  • Behind the Walls
The systems most people never see are essential to every school day. See why aging heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing, and other infrastructure is included in Question 2.

Tour

See our schools. Learn about identified needs. Ask questions.

Join us for a walking tour of Centennial High School and Centennial Elementary to learn more about the two referendum questions and see the areas identified through the Centennial Forward planning process.

  • Thursday, October 8 at 6 p.m.
  • Location: Meet in the Learning Commons at Centennial High School (4757 North Road, Circle Pines)
  • During the tour, community members will have an opportunity to learn more about:
    • The two referendum questions on the November 2026 ballot
    • How proposed improvements address identified district needs
    • How school spaces and facilities support students, staff, and the community

It’s Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch time at Centennial Schools!

Centennial School District is joining schools, early care centers, colleges, hospitals, and other organizations across the Great Lakes Region states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, and Ohio in the annual Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch. We will celebrate National Farm to School Month by crunching into apples from our local Pinetree Apple Orchard at lunch time on October 8.

Please help in showing support of our local farmers by wearing flannel on October 8 and stop by the cafeteria to crunch into a delicious apple. This collective crunch encourages healthy eating and supports farm to school and local food initiatives throughout the Great Lakes Region.

Immunization information

Minnesota law requires children enrolled in childcare, early childhood education, or school to be immunized against certain diseases, unless the child is medically or non-medically exempt. If proper documentation is not provided, students will be unable to attend school after October 30, 2026. Contact your student’s school with questions.
