Welcome Back to the RRMS Library!

September is an amazing month here in the library. We welcome back our 8th graders for another year and meet our 7th graders, too! By the end of September 30, every student in the school will have visited our library for orientation and checking out books.

Speaking of orientation, all of our students were able to explore the library's virtual presence on Blackboard as well as explore our new makerspace! 7th grade classes did a scavenger hunt, looking for important parts of the library, and 8th grade classes completed group challenges in the Makerspace. See below for some photos of the best results!

We also began working with classes already! Students have already had lessons using technology, the makerspace, and using print resources. We're excited to already partner with French, Spanish, Art, and English for these collaborations. Lots of great lessons have been planned for October, too - stay tuned!

Thanks to all parents & staff who have generously donated items for our makerspace! Students have loved the area so far and we're looking forward to seeing how they make the area their own. We've also been using it for lessons in different subjects.

We always have at least 100 students in our library between 7:10 & 7:30. Students print, check out, hang out with their friends, and study. It's a great way to start every day!
