Assalam Aleikum!

Dear NISL Families,

In the spring of 2023, our school partnered with the Southeast branch of our local YMCA, and this partnership has provided our students with additional opportunities for physical development. Our Health and Physical Education teacher, Coach Nouna, regularly takes different grade levels to the YMCA for swimming and exercise. This school year, our high school PE and Health class has begun visiting the YMCA every Thursday for strength training.

The YMCA Southeast branch is hosting a Fall Fest and Open House this Sunday, September 15th, from 12 PM to 3 PM, and our school will be participating as a community partner and vendor. The YMCA director has extended a special invitation to our school community. We encourage all families to stop by and support this partnership! The YMCA Southeast branch is located at 5930 Six Mile Lane, Louisville, KY 40218.

As we continue through the school year, I also want to remind you of our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, September 26th, and Friday, September 27th. These conferences are a valuable opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers, discuss their progress, and collaborate on how we can best support their growth. You should have received an email with a LINK to schedule your conference. We encourage you to sign up early to secure a time that works best for you. Our teachers are excited to share insights into your child’s academic growth, strengths, and areas for focus.

As always, we deeply value your partnership, and we believe that strong communication between home and school is essential to student success. If you have any questions about the scheduling process, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We look forward to connecting with you soon and continuing to work together to support your child’s journey!

Sincerely,

Aisha Blagaia
