The K12 Zone Report
September 10th

✨ Bring Your Passions to Life in the National Zone! ✨
Do you have a hobby, talent, or passion you’d love to share with students? We’re inviting K12 staff to lead weekly clubs in the National Zone — a chance to inspire, connect, and build community around the things you love most.
🎶 Some ideas:
• Cheerleading Club
• Band or Music Jam
• Book Club
• Art Studio
• Chess or Strategy Games
• Fitness or Yoga
• Dance (and more!)
🌟 Special October Spotlight: We’re looking for someone to help run a Thriller Dance Club so students can learn the moves together and perform during a special end-of-October event!
💡 These are volunteer opportunities (unpaid), but they’re a fun way to connect with students, build school spirit, and make the Zone even more magical.
👉 Interested? Email nhoover@k12.com with the type of club you’d like to lead and which grade band(s) you’d want to host — or open it up to all!

✨ Classroom Spotlight: Ms. Ratzloff (OVCA) ✨
Math Lessons with Movement and Fun in the Zone
Ms. Ratzloff (5th Grade Math Intervention, OVCA) brings her students into the K12 Zone classroom with clear expectations, engaging lessons, and plenty of energy. Her math class features interactive practice, group problem-solving, and even avatar races and dances to celebrate learning. The playful mix of academics and movement shows how the Zone can keep students focused, connected, and having fun.
🎥 Watch the video below to see Ms. Ratzloff’s classroom in action!
Inspired? Our K12 Classroom Showcase is your chance to share how you use your classroom zone. If you already have a Zone and are open to a short walkthrough or lesson being filmed, we’d love to spotlight your creativity and impact. As a thank-you, selected teachers will also receive a $50 gift card.

How to Make Your Zone Bigger (or Smaller!)
Have you ever been walking in your zone and suddenly hit an invisible wall? That means you’ve reached the end of your zone and may need to make it larger.
Or maybe you’ve added an asset or scene — but your avatar can’t walk to it? That usually means you placed it outside the boundaries of your zone.
Good news: it’s quick and easy to resize your zone!
🎥 Check out the video below to see how to make your zone larger or smaller in just a few clicks.
